Oh course they are!!
HIV and AIDS are diseases. The Catholic church may not be nuts about ONE or TWO ways one can get HIV but that has nothing to do with it. Off hand the only thing I do not think Catholic Hospitals would allow would be non-emergency abortions or fertility related treatment (depending).
I have been an EMT and have held a few babies. Babies are babies. All cute and cuddly. The good news is that we can treat AIDS today and it is becoming more of a life management instead of life limiting.
I can promise you that no hospital in the US would not treat a child for ANY reason. Its the law and would be unethical.
Speaking as a Catholic AIDS or HIV is not a sin. Even if an adult committed sin and had HIV, he is still worthy of love, of care, of humanity.

if we all wanted to do that there would be really long lines cuz there just are not that many. I sypathize with those who get this desease but baby's are not often the ones who get it. There has to be an open sore and like one very insensitive person said, the vagina can take a lot of punishment, he should have added before it will tare.leaving a place to transmit the disease. These are victims of the needle or even less common blood transfusion. Not saying these do not happen but it is way less evident than those who want money for research had us to believe. We should have given for the research earlier so they did not have to misrepresent things.

This was a great opportunity for the Church to help and they missed it. Who could say you guys are hateful had the church made a great step and found a cure with it's own giving. What a missed opportunity that was.

this is component to an answer that I submitted for an older question regarding childbirth and HIV/AIDS: the mummy and infant do not share a similar blood grant in utero, however the maternal blood grant remains linked to the fetal blood grant by using utilising the umbilical cord and placenta. it is possible for HIV to bypass from the mummy to the infant for the time of the placenta, thereby infecting the infant. however the probabilities of HIV transmission are a ways extra suitable throughout a vaginal beginning and by using breastfeeding. If an HIV positve mom won treatment in simple terms before starting to be pregnant and won treatment throughout her being pregnant to cut back the maternal viral load and additionally throughout hard artwork and transport, then the prospect of transmission could be decreased. Electing to have a cesearean will additionally cut back the prospect of the infant being contaminated, so as that the infant isn't uncovered to HIV contaminated blood or vaginal/cervical secretions. however the infant could additionally ought to acquire antiretroviral treatment for quite a few weeks after beginning. Bottle-feeding the infant as a replace of breastfeeding is yet yet in any different case to cut back the prospect of HIV transmission. mutually as there are particular measures and precautions which would be taken to cut back the probabilities of HIV transmission to the infant, those measures are by using no means one hundred% sensible in combating the infant from being contaminated. So it is possible for an HIV-useful mom to furnish beginning to an HIV-loose infant, with desirable and well timed scientific intervention/treatment.
