For someone who brags about how great he is, why won't God stop children from being raped and sodomized? And don't give me this BS about free will. God could stop it if he wanted to but he doesn't. I want to hear some insane pathetic rationalizations from you brain washed xians. Maybe because he created evil. Isaiah 45:7:
"Who fashions light and creates darkness, who makes peace and creates evil, I am HaShem who does all this."

Here's a response from xian Joyce: God does help those being raped. He helps them to regain their strength, he helps them to get through it." Do you xians realize how insane sick twisted rationalizations are? What you're saying is God won't stop the act of rape but after he lets it happen, he's gone "help them" by telling them it's okay? Why doesn't he stop it? Who gives a flying *** about after the fact, what about the girl who was raped for three years straight, God looked down from heaven saw what was happening and decided that that girl wasn't worth helping? How would God like it if he was the one being raped? I don't think he would like it very much, sounds like hypocrisy to me.

Who cares what you believe, who cares what Scriptures you quote, who gives a flying **** how many Bible verses you know, how many songs you sing, how many people you witness to, how many people attend your church on Sunday, how much money you're church is making, Jesus said the most important thing is to love the Lord your God blah, blah, blah & the second is exactly the same: love your neighbor as your self for the whole Bible is summed up in that. That's a radical concept that the xians needs to get a hold of. I live my life by that philosophy and I know many non-Christians do as well so what the **** is your problem? What the **** is the problem with so-called Christians?

I understand your anger. There is much suffering in the world and I have often wondered why God would allow it to the degree (s)he has. Freewill is important for many a reason including spiritual growth, but does it sometimes have to be allowed to manifest so darn nasty?
Just like a parent can stop there children from doing harmful things so can God. Parents aren't all powerful and sometimes the harm their children do escapes them.
But God doesn't have this excuse. And so I must conclude that either God never intervenes as the deists would proclaim, or that God sometimes intervenes and or intervenes in indirect ways.
I must admit I am partial to the later possibility. It still does not make this question any easier. If I were God I would probably do things differently but then again I am not and probably for good reason.
What it all comes down to concerning this issue is faith and trust. Faith that there is a God and trust that God is good and wise enough to know what (s)he is doing.
As for your quote I do not believe the bible to be inerrant. It is mans conception n which often uses of the concept of God throughout to sometimes conveniently interpreted history. This does not mean nothing is true in the bible. But if you really want to find the truth you need to be independent enough to filter through many different traditions, gleaning their ideas while integrating them with your own life experiences.
I am sorry for the events in your life that have caused you to lean in a spiritually cynical way. I mean this in good heart as I can understand how pain can twist ones perception, including mine which has happened from time to time. I truly wish you well in your ever continuing journey.

Ya know, it's funny you would ask a question like this. Let me tell you a little story, and I hope your mind is open enough to read it.
I was raised in a VERY religious home. My dad was an interim pastor, my mom plays piano for her church.
When I was five, we moved to South Carolina. I was one of those kids who started developing early. By the time I was seven, I was already developing breasts. Around the time I was six, a man at our church started molesting me. This continued for three years.
Appalling, isn't it? This man was revered within the church as being a truly "holy man." And yet...he was molesting children!
I often wondered why God allowed this to happen, and why it is that my situation was such that I couldn't even tell anyone. My dad was dying, and I saw that if I divulged my horrible secret, it would kill him. My family would pretend to forgive me, but it's most likely that they would have blamed me.
Years and years later (it's been almost twenty since it all began) I FINALLY understand. First of all, it happened because I'm strong. I can handle just about anything. For every year I've been alive, I've buried at least one person that I loved. And there is so much more that I've had to deal with that only my closest friends know. I'm certainly not going to advertise it here!
Anyway, so I'm strong. Another reason it happened to ME is because that pervert was so busy with me, that he didn't have time for any of the other kids.
Yes, God could have stopped it. But here's the thing:
First of all, that bastard did CHOOSE to do what he did. And I believe very firmly that he's being doubly punished in hell for it!
Second, we can't see the entire fabric. Only a very small portion of it is revealed to us. We can't see how everything ties in for EVERY human that has ever and WILL ever live.
As for the verse you quote, you're taking it out of context. Here are the first few verses preceding it:
1 "This is what the LORD says to his anointed,
to Cyrus, whose right hand I take hold of
to subdue nations before him
and to strip kings of their armor,
to open doors before him
so that gates will not be shut:
2 I will go before you
and will level the mountains [a] ;
I will break down gates of bronze
and cut through bars of iron.
3 I will give you the treasures of darkness,
riches stored in secret places,
so that you may know that I am the LORD,
the God of Israel, who summons you by name.
4 For the sake of Jacob my servant,
of Israel my chosen,
I summon you by name
and bestow on you a title of honor,
though you do not acknowledge me.
5 I am the LORD, and there is no other;
apart from me there is no God.
I will strengthen you,
though you have not acknowledged me,
6 so that from the rising of the sun
to the place of its setting
men may know there is none besides me.
I am the LORD, and there is no other.
7 I form the light and create darkness,
I bring prosperity and create disaster;
I, the LORD, do all these things.
God is talking about giving victory to a certain people, while helping to destroy their enemy.
That means that WE'RE the ones who brought evil into the world. It's by allowing child molesters and rapists to get away with their depravity that we are actually condoning it, and even causing it to happen. WE'RE doing it. Not God.

Well,if I didn't know any better,I would say something happened to you.
Now you blame god for not fixing it!
Yes,you are right to a certain extent that we don't know!
No-one really knows why bad things happen to good people.
This has been debated throughout the centuries.
All you can do is look at stories in the bible for guidance.
Look at the book of Job,how god allowed the devil to curse Job so god can prove Job's faithfulness.
I offer my condolences to you.
I know something bad has happened to you,for you to lash out like this.
NO HUMAN can answer your question, only your journey, walking with god, can help you.
God Bless

I hardly ever hear people who ask questions like these say anything about personal responsibility. God makes it clear that each person is to take personal responsibility for keeping tragic events such as rape and murder from happening.
What about them, the ones doing these uspeakable acts? Why don't THEY stop it since THEY are the ones doing it? And why don't we start putting the responisiblity where it really belongs - with each person being accountable for his or her own actions and decisions?

You could sit here and say why does God allow any of the bad things in the world. However, it doesn't change the fact that we live in an imperfect fallen world. We must be responsible for what we do. The liability lies in the evil of the rapist not God.

Do you know how callous and cruel this is to those who have experienced such crimes? We all do have free will and that free will can impinge upon another but I can tell you that it is through those unpleasant experiences in my past that I have learned to have compassion and concern for another. THAT is why unlike YOU I would not be so cold blooded to ask such a question. It is through lifes difficult experiences that we learn the most.

Here is an anecdote that may illustrate his growing anti-religious sentiments. (Though at the time he was apparently still a church-going Catholic.)
Driving through a Swiss city one day, Hitchcock suddenly pointed out of the car window and said, "That is the most frightening sight I have ever seen." His companion was surprised to see nothing more alarming that a priest in conversation with a little boy, his hand on the child's shoulder. "Run, little boy," cried Hitchcock, leaning out of the car. "Run for your life

Interesting choice of names for G-d, my friend.
Let's get real here.
I was molested as a young teenage boy. I had no idea what sex was, & had never c u m before that day. I did not understand what that man was doing to me.
About 12 years later, I had an 'encounter' I could only refer to as G-d intervening in my life. It DIRECTLY involved my memory of being molested.
G-d dealt with that incident in my life. I have since gone to schools, churches & synagogues & spoke to whomever would listen about confiding in another if/when you are ever touched inappropriately.
G-d was with me when I was molested. I was just too ignorant to know He was there with me. I now know...& thank Him for His presence in my life.

Because there is no God..for the same reason the Easter Bunny doesn't bring eggs to your house..We're talking about fictional characters.. If God is soooo powerful why not just obliterate Satan rather then let him wreak havoc on the earth? Please some one explain how a loving god could be so self absorbed and vain that he would create a being in his image ( I personally thought secular beings had no shape or form) then give him an ultimatum to worship him or he will rot in hell for all eternity....God sounds like a nice guy..lol Its a falsie the greatest fairy tale ever written...
