the scarriest that ever happened to me was when i got hit by a car i was riding my bike and a car hit me i past out i dont remember much but everything went black i woke up on my cosins bed i cried alot it happened 5 years ago sooooo scary

A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and his beard trimmed. As the barber began to work, they began to have a good conversation. They talked about so many things and various subjects.


When they eventually touched on the subject of God, the barber said: "I don't believe that God exists."


"Why do you say that?" asked the customer.


"Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn't exist. Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people? Would there be abandoned children? If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain. I can't imagine a loving a God who would allow all of these things."

The customer thought for a moment, but didn't respond because he didn't want to start an argument. The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop.

Just after he left the barbershop, he saw a man in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard. He looked dirty and unkempt.


The customer turned back and entered the barber shop again and he said to the barber: "You know what? Barbers do not exist."


"How can you say that?" asked the surprised barber. "I am here, and I am a barber. And I just worked on you!"


"No!" the customer exclaimed. "Barbers don't exist because if they did, there would be no people with dirty long hair and untrimmed beards, like that man outside."


"Ah, but barbers DO exist! What happens is, people do not come to me."


"Exactly!"- affirmed the customer. "That's the point! God, too, DOES exist! What happens, is, people don't go to Him and do not look for Him. That's why there's so much pain and suffering in the world."

When male Protestant clergy convert to Roman Catholicism and then wish to enter the RC priesthood, what precisely is the status of the spouse? Do they continue cohabitation as spouses (after all, the woman may not have converted to the RC faith, and it doesn't seem proper to set aside **her** marital vows), or must they live together (if at all) in a "brother-and-sister" relation? Or is a civil divorce (with no remarriage) permitted?

My husband and I were discussing what the Church was going to do in future years, with the demographic shifts and changes in faiths, and this topic came up---Google search was not very productive. Anyone familiar with canon law/currant decisions out there, or willing to make a reasonable interpretation/guess, or render an opinion? Rational, polite inputs from all perspectives welcomed!

i watched on cnn that many gay man are not being allowed to served due to the don't tell policy. if a gay man can control his emation since they are always emations them they should serve what do you all think

Step into any Christian church, and you are likely to see at least 50% more women than men.

The rate at which women convert to Islam is approximately 4 female converts per each 1 male convert.

I have heard that there are way more female practicing Wiccans than male.

Are men more likely to make the decision to be atheist or agnostic than women, or do just as many men believe, but are much less vocal about their belief? Do women just "practice" their religions more or are women really more spiritual?

America is of course. No matter what people say and how much they criticize us, everyone comes over here, not third world central america. If the people that complain about how they are treated in America went back to their native countries, I'm sure they wouldn't be treated any better because after all they left their country for a reason. Blacks who call themselves african americans and most of them have never even seen Africa, probably wouldn't want to live there either , especially the poor ones because they would be living out in the middle of no where starving , their children would look like the ones we see on tv, therefore Africa is not such a great place for the poor, no free housing, foodstamps, etc. Those from central america wouldn't have it so great either, begging on the streets instead of getting free lunches and foodstamps. Why does everyone come here and criticize America, it is really the greatest country, even now

i received a gift certificate at a fancy salon

during my "consultation" the lady said i need to dye & cut w/ her first, then go to the eyebrow lady to be "cleaned up"

1. when do i tip and is 20% expected, regardless of price? for example i think it will cost 200 or 300$, so i should tip around $50?

2. do i tip the eyebrow lady separately & right after she does it?
(and if her thing costs $50/ out of the 300, do I only tip her $10?)

3. is there a nicer way to tip than handing dollar bills, can you use an envelope or something???

Two years ago I worked with this chic, I was always attracted to her, but she said she was straight. She knew I was bi and I used to tease her alot in a flirty manner. On her birthday we went out and had a few drinks. We wound up in bed together, just that once. I moved away (an hour drive) soon after but kept in touch. I have thought about her alot in the past 2 yrs. Six months ago she calls me to tell me she has a gf now... shocker. For me there are many ways and places my favorites are : Walks at dawn or sunset, Brisk Fall days, Camping or out in nature, and Eucharistic Adoration and Mass. Candles and soft music along with poetry are things I do to enhance my spirituality.
