IF THAT SAYING IS TRUE THEN WHY DO SOME PEOPLE SAY THAT THEY SEE GHOSTS? SHOULDN'T THEY STILL BE WAITING IN THIER GRAVES FOR CHRIST TO COME. ALSO, WHAT IF YOU ARE CREAMATED? NOT ALL OF THEM GET BURIED.

OK lexi, I'll try my best to answer your question.

In Matthew 27:52 it says, "And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose," This verse indicates that those who "asleep" (dead) before the time of Christ were risen for immediate judgment due to Christs finished work on the Cross.

Ghosts are nothing but demonic forces trying to get peoples focus off of what scripture teaches, namely that when people die they are immediately sent to heaven or hell. there is no in between.

If someones cremated it doesn't matter because all things are possible for God, even to put the pieces of a cremated body back together.

All will be judged come the return of our Lord, the righteous will be given a new glorified body and the wicked will suffer the second death.

The grave is where you reside after death. Some folks drown in the ocean and the bacteria consume their bodies. Some are in the ground and others above ground in mausoleums. And then there are the cremated. Eventually we all turn to dust, our original state. There have been several accounts in the Bible of the spirit of the dead person showing up but it was always for a good purpose of God's choosing. And yes, the dead in Christ are still in their graves. Some think that they are in heaven but the time for Christ to lead his people into heaven hasn't happened yet. (this could be very controversial with those who believe that you go directly to heaven when you die, but not according to the Bible). If that was true then Jesus would have had to call Lazarus back to earth not from the tomb.

the bible says that there will be things that we wont understand. the reason why Jesus made the bible was more of a guide on how to live more than a way to understand death and other things. But also, in the bible it says that when you die, we enter into a 4th demention and so therefore, there is no time at all. so if were dead waiting in our graves waiting for Jesus to come, once your dead, time isnt there so basically there not waiting anymore. its something that mankind will never completely understand and that is why we call it 'faith'. also, it doenst matter if your creamated or not. it doenst matter where you are on earth when jesus comes. weather your dead or alive, if your a christian youll go to heaven, weather your body is under ground of underwater. do you get it? if not, somethings you arent really supposed to understand fully.

That's a tough question for the Church. They respond by alleging ghosts either don't exist, or are demons trying to trick us. It also seems to contradict the verses that talk about us having new bodies in heaven. Creamated or not, after a couple of thousand years our bodies are going to be a little worse for wear. Popping up as a skeleton, or zombie if I'm somewhat freshly dead, doesn't fit my idea of heavenly bliss...

The best answers to the questions you raise are that ghosts are spirits that have not yet passed over and received the "second judgment". Therefore, they are not yet "dead in Christ", nor yet damned. And the reference to the "dead in Christ" rising refers to a rising of their spirits, not their physical bodies. This would translate a lot better with the Greek/Roman/Pagan concept of Hades (prevalent when those words were written), and the Jewish concept of Sheol. These concepts see the dead as spirits wandering around somewhere underground, but not attached to their former physical bodies. For the "dead in Christ" to rise (from Hades or Sheol), would be perfectly understandable to the audience at the time these verses were written.

You have many questions here and there good questions that come from the heart of a true seeker of God.There is a simple explanation to each of them, but I fill that it would be better for you to sit down with a pastor and discuss this . I would recommend an Assembly of God Pastor if I may.But get into a church were you can learn about these and other questions. In time God will use you to teach others . Don't allow yourself to become confused for the devil is the author of confusion. Many times we complicate the Gospel, keep it simple and you will be blessed and be a blessing to those around you.

No. Its the physical body that dies to this world. and the soul goes to heaven. on the day of judgment the souls can reform their last or first physical body back on Earth. but with the second coming and the establishment of the kingdom of god on earth is done there will be room for all of the souls to live on earth again. as GOD made the souls of all that was and will be before the physical universe was made.
ghosts are those souls that either died to quickly and don't that they are dead.or have more work to do here before they can leave .
There is only an empty shell left in the grave that would have to be reconstituted and revived .

People see ghosts because Satan is toying with them.
1 John 5:19
Being cremated represents no problem.
God promises to 're-make' the dead.
Therefore if you are buried, died at sea, or cremated ....the point is you don't exist and God will re-make you.
The dead in Christ that rise refers to those who will rule, reign with him.
Its like an election.
Not everybody goes to Washington.
Some are elected and they go.
They are representatives.
Most everybody else stays home.
Jesus has called 144,000 (Revelation 14:1) they are the dead in Christ that rise.

I believe it is actually denoting all getting to judgement day. Those who have the promise of everlasting life of Spirit go to heaven immediately. The Spirit of those without the promise of everlasting life are left in wait for Christ to call them.

The answer is no one realy knows and is still alive.

They will rise in their spiritual bodies and not the physical bodies. The physical body will go back to earth in which they came from. This will happen in the third earth age according to the Bible. When Jesus returns to earth to reign.
