When Amos addressed the people these were people who had plenty of 'religion'. They regularly went to the shrine for worship and expected God to fulfill all the expectations they had. Amos told them they were wrong, that God did not want sacrifice or singing, he wanted justice.

How are today's christians, who also expect that God will fulfill their expectations, any different from those misinformed people that Amos addressed?

Catholics fight the Protestants.Christians fight the Muslims.Everyone hates the Jews(ok that's a generalisation).
Over the centuries more people have been killed either because of their religious beliefs or in the name of one god or another.
Should we not then ban religion as a danger to mankind?

women in Islam is like the diamond, they are not sex sells. my mom is treated like a queen at my home. and muslim girls treated like a princess except with a few.

People who are not open to possibility of an unplanned pregnancy if their birth control fails can only have homosexual sex. There would be no unplanned pregnancies or abortion and people still get to have sex.

I've heard a lot of evangelical christians saying that revelations is coming true now, and the end of days is coming within our lifetime.

I have a problem with this. The apostles thought they'd see the second coming in their lifetime. What makes this time so special? What is happening that hasn't happened before? Because most of what I hear (the state of Israel being reformed, conflict in the middle east, and so forth) has happened in the past; like during the crusades.
If you believe this, why?

I never quite understood why this is such a big debate. With the average American public school teaching at level of Science and Mathematics bellow that of other nations shouldn’t that be our priority?

I understand that religion should be taught in reference to history people should know about events like the renaissance and the crusades and why they happened but let’s leave it at that. In my opinion schools are about educating not indoctrination (this is coming from a person that went to a religious private high school, and dose not regret it)

So tell me why should religion be taught in public school.

I know they didn't just stop abusing children, none of them went to jail. so my question is, where did they go?? Why all of a sudden did the news reports stop? Is there somebody quashing these stories before they hit the news? My Mom hasn't been to church in a few years because of this and she is teh one that mentioned it to me? I am I just imagining this?
