This is the first time I've been here and you people make me sick. Both believers and non believers. Why this constant battle of the wits? Isn't everyone allowed to believe their own things without having to justify it?

Whatever you believe should be respected and not questioned, unlike what is going on here

I'm not saying don't discuss it but I see "You're an idiot / Burn in hell / What do you know" What ever happened to respect?!

I guess I can see the respect issue but generally if you treat someone nice here, they treat you nice back. Tit for Tat

People's human rights deserve respect. One of those human rights is the freedom to disagree and state your honest opinions. Beliefs do not deserve respect. If we respected everyone's beliefs then there would still be slave owners. Both religion and slavery, when viewed objectively, cause tremendous amounts of harm to the world. Those beliefs deserve no respect.

Religions are mind viruses. I attack the viruses, not their carriers. The carriers are just victims. I do not wish them to be eternally tortured or any harm at all for that matter.

If someone is offended that I speak against their religion, then they should move to Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia or one of those Christian communes that are popping up. They won't let you disrespect their religion there.

"I will not attack your doctrines nor your creeds if they accord liberty to me. If they hold thought to be dangerous - if they aver that doubt is a crime, then I attack them one and all, because they enslave the minds of men." [Robert G. Ingersoll, "The Ghosts", 1877]

AMEN!!!!!

There are, unfortunately, a lot of people who just get their jollies by abusing, making fun of and antagonizing everyone else.

There are a few of us though, who do try to have reasonable discourse and to answer questions about and defend our faith against the more ridiculous comments, but it is certainly an uphill battle some days.

I certainly do respect other religions and the non -religious, like Spooky, who seems to be a very respectful individual.

We really do need more calm, grounded people in this section and to just ignore the idiots here.

It's not a battle, it's a game. It's entertaining and enlightening.
Answering the questions a spiritual process, in itself.
I am at church. RAmen!

Actually, I thought we were doing quite well, and it was more quieter, so to speak, than normal. Be happy, be well.

Excuse me, you said "what happened to respect", yet you came in making accusations.

Judge not, let you be judged. Go in peace.

Bad posters tend to drive out good ones. That's the law of the internet.

If we all agreed, there would be no discussion. Clearly, everyone should be respected: but any beliefs or opinions are open targets.

And you, the third side, the "ure retards cuz u cnt gt alng" side, are just as bad. Statements like "What is up everyone's behind?" and "you people make me sick" are not designed to avoid arguments. Quite the opposite. You don't want everyone to get along, you want to have the last word, and that's all.
