women in Islam is like the diamond, they are not sex sells. my mom is treated like a queen at my home. and muslim girls treated like a princess except with a few.

In USA a girl got raped every few second so while im typing this msg 5- 10 gals will get raped . More 2 say Islam has given grace to women by telling them to remain in home as they r not pieces of decoration , only 2 provide sex as in USA n westren culture . they r respectful human beings in Islam tell me how many women r at good prominent positions in USA on the other hand muslim women r working at higher posts in pakistan , saudia , n other middle east countries . More over , 4 marriages are allowed to man so taht they dont fall into adultery which is prevailing in USA n its better to get married then to cheat on ur wife .hope this answers the question

i completely agree with uma from egypt. great answer. The muslim women in america and pakistan and Tajikistan, europe, etc are treated the way they are supposed to, they follow the religion and not the culture. Men who follow their country's culture are the ones who beat their wives and make laws against them and then hide behind the Quran. America is far from perfect too.I have seen abuse here as well. Everyone country has their dogs. I dont base christianity on them do I? DO I say 'omg christians are horrible they raped their girlfriend. The religion tells them too.' I guess you are a male. I would never say that all males treat women poorly as you seem to assume some do for sure.

But you seem to think Muslim women have it made, while men keep them uneducated, unable to do anything with out a male escort, what is it all you have to do is say hit the road 3 time and their out of there. I suppose I could continue but it to depressing.

Muslim have less divorce, because women are lower with man in many ways. Also Man can have more than 3 wife without any divorce.

As a Muslim women living in Egypt I would have to agree and disagree. Those who PRACTICE Islam are good to their wifes, mother, sisters, daughters, ect..... We are protected and honored. Remeber the hadeeth were the Prophet(peace be upon him) said the mother 3 times when asked who sould be honored and respected more before he said the father. He also said the best of men are the ones best to their wifes and he was the best to his wifes.

But those who practice CULTURE more then Islam mistreat the women. It is very sad. They say they are Muslim but they don't act like one.

I know what you mean..i have seen so much of violence between boyfriend and girlfriend..husband and wife..all right here in the good ole USA...nobody wants to talk about this.. have you seen some of the talk shows that the men treat there woman no better than a dog?? the men have their own children spit on there mother and kick her,etc....this goes on everywhere in the world so its about time we open up our eyes and really pay attention what goes on... stop criticizing others if we are guilty of the mistreating woman and children....and i was born and raised an American ...so yes i have seen what goes on in this world growing up...i've seen alot more than i care to see...

The way men treat thier women can not be catergorised by religion. Because there are men who beat on thier wives just because. It does not have to do with religion, but the character of the person. A man would treat his wife with great respect becuae he chooses to. And on the same premise, a man can treat his wife like crap because he choses to also. It all has to do with the individual. Many american husbands beat on thier wives. And they are not ismalic. And there are many muslims who would treat thier wives as the greatest gift on earth that GOD could grant. Really, Do americans practice the fine art of honour killings? Do American men sell their daughter to some man old enough to be her father to be his second, third or fourth wife? Are American men told by their religious leaders to beat their wives if they disobey?
