Maybe evangelicals christians are asking why is that unbelievers don't read the bible and understand Jesus is coming back and that we must all be ready? If you have a problem with this then you must know that you have the liberty to not listen or read what they say. Plain and simple. Nothing too hard about it!

No one knows when the end of the world is coming except God. Don't listen to the hooey put out by those predicting the end of times. This has been going on for the past 2 thousand years. Live a good life and you have nothing to worry about.
There is a little thing I heard when I was a kid and always wonders about. That is that the first Pope of the Catholic church was Peter the First and that the last Pope of the Catholic church will be Peter II. This will mark the end of time. Another one I learned as a kid was that God promised St. Patrick that Ireland would sink into the sea before the end of times so that the Irish wouldn't be burned up as the Earth is destroyed. These are both fables and are no more or no less accurate to point to the end of times as what the evangelicals are predicting.

People get narrow focus and forget Christ said that no one will know when he comes!
Also most Christians are not taught that much of the Bible was written in code to be deciphered by insiders. The Book of Revelations is like several old testament books that are written to keep the conquers from understanding the text! The Jewish clerics were all very literate men as were much of the Jewish nation. They were taught how to interpret the Scripture from an early age. Gentiles never were taught to understand things that are Jewish in culture!

Anxiety is a normal response in human relationships. End time teachings offers a focal point for this anxiety. People who are afraid look for guidance, leadership and ways to secure their personal safety. And of course, Mr. Evangelical Preacher is right there to provide that leadership and guidance and reinforce that anxiety into a heady addictive mix.
Believing the world is about to end also relieves them of the responsiblity of dealing with real life problems that require long-term planning and diligent work. No need to worry about cleaning up the inner city or finding housing and health care for the mentally ill homeless, go ahead and put that nuclear wastedump in an ecological fragile area. It doesn't matter. God is coming back. He'll take care of it!

My dad has been preaching this for years as well - remember "88 reasons why the Lord will return in '88"? I think we are to always be on the watch and prepare - but we are not to get wrapped up in it - we need to live today as a gift and teach and preach the gospel. The Bible says no man shall know the hour - that tells me that God doesn't want us to know - so why guess? Everything in the middle-east gets Christains in a ruffle - maybe because they are looking forward to the second coming - not a bad thing actually.

Complete and utter ignorance of Biblical scholarship which establishes the book was written about contemporary events in Ephesus of 90 AD, and not for Christians in the 21st century.

The end will come when the Good News about God's Kingdom has been preached in all the inhabited earth for a Witness to all the nations, and not before.
Jehovah's Witnesses are busy fulfilling that prophecy.

Here you have this preacher (whatever) who spends his whole life preaching about this event. Of course it's got to happen in his life time he can't tell his flock we blew it on this millennium but we'll get it the next one. His income falls to zip and he's talking to himself.
It's always been a mystery to we why anyone cares. If you believe, are you going to act different today, since it's over tomorrow? Would seem to me you'd act the way you think you should, to go where you hope to go.

Israel being a nation again is the biggest, but stand back and watch, it will happen before your eyes.. Peace is leaving this planet and we are headed for nuclear war and me saying it does not make it happen nor can anyone stop it from happening.
Rev 6:4 And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.

Oh, I don't believe the end times are coming. Not at all. It's been predicted too many times in the past and all with convincing evidence and all times proven wrong to be happening now.
