But when we go into court it make us put our hand on the bible and swear to God

Is this not wrong?

What would happen if you refused and told them it was against your religion to swear to anyone in heaven or on earth?

I heard it does, in about a dozen passages.

Or any other organ for that matter. Doesn't it seem to you kind of odd how all miracles that happen are those that didn't seem absolutely impossible in the first place as opposed to those we know are entirely impossible? Like regrowing an arm.

P.S. I'm an atheist, so I don't need 20 of you storming in like "GOD ISN'T REAL." Thank you.

I have to organise an event for a home where the patients are terminally ill and have only some time to live. i suggested outdoor place like picnic at a garden but my teacher was concerned that if it rained it would be troublesome. so she suggested going to a shopping centre that was going to open soon. i told the home's organiser and she said her main concern was there will be too many people so probably those patients (guess some will be on wheelchairs) will get bumped here and there. any suggestions on where to bring them and what to do there? you can give me a generalised answer or those from Singapore please name a specific place.

I'm halfway through the book and while I KNOW it's fiction, I'm also realizing that it makes a lot of interesting connections that I've never made before and raises questions I'd never thought of. (As a researcher by trade asking questions is very important to me.)

As I've been reading I've occasionally stopped to check out a few of Brown's supositions on the internet, (to keep my minor crisis of faith in check) and have found out that some of his angles are blatently misconstrued, but other things aren't so clear (especially the bits about women.)

The Bible is just a book too right? (One that millions of people got behind, documenting a story that millions believe implicitly and without question.) But written by men... could some of the feminine elements not have been distorted?

What was your reaction to reading the book? Anger or Ah-ha? And have any of the lights that went on while reading made you stop and wonder why you believe what you believe while you're at church?

Those born with ambiguous gender are often made female shortly after brith but some identify themselves as male later. Since a priest is supposed to be celibate anyway, would he still be allowed to be a priest if his penis had been removed before an age of consent?

I've asked questions to men in general, now I want to ask certain men in particular. Can you asian, latin, and non-black or non-white guys tell me something: Do you have a preference in dating a certain kind of woman? It can be money, looks, personality traits, etc. I just want to hear from some minorities. (I'm not trying to de-value everybody else. I'm just curious...don't be offended.)

I'm Moslim, Arab and Egyptian.
Yesterday, 11/9 I asked my self this question "Will an American person belive me when I say I love America and like Americans?)
I had many Amerian collegues in my previous job and we were real friends. I did not meet any of them one year before 11/9/2001.
Maybe their fillings will be changed because of what a group related to my country did to their people and country.
This group acted like that, as they belive that USA is strongly supporting Isarael who occupaied Arab lands.
I want to be more frank. I may disagree with many acts from America toward Arab countries specialy what is related to Palastinian case, but I like America the society and the civilization and freedome and like the american's life style and way of thinking.
Now... Do you belive me when I say I love America?
