A dream can come from God, and often do!
A vision is a waking state, where you are taken away to see.
A hallucination is an unbalance in the chemistry of the brain, often the cause of the introduction of a drug, or environmental condition.

You can see God only when you are completely purified. In this material world the spirit soul is covered by three modes of material nature - goodness (sattva), passion (rajas) and ignorance (tamas), and dreams and hallucinations usually result from the mode of ignorance. However, when through the process of bhakti-yoga the spirit soul is completely purified from the influence of three material modes and is situated in transcendence, pure goodness (called suddha-sattva), then he can have vision of God, indeed, such purified person can see God directly with his own purified eyes.
