When they come up with ideas or think of something as being morally right or wrong could it be that they are just thinking these things for themselves but mistaking it for the voice of god speaking through them?

Morning Prayer

Oh Blessed Heavenly Father
I thank Thee for this day
Help me, I beseech Thee
To walk within Thy way
Keep my soul, Oh Father
Safe from all alarm
And keep me safe, I beg Thee
From danger and from harm
As Thou hast sent Thy Spirit
To guard me in my sleep
Send Him this day to guide me
That I Thy Will may keep
Watch over all my labors, Lord
Help me to work as in Thy sight
That my yoke may be easy
And my burden light
Help me to follow my Savior
To be gentle, and tender, and mild
For I would that I may always walk
As Thine Own beloved child
But, though I may fail in anything
Then, by Thy mercy and Thy Word
Correct me and amend my fault
Through Jesus Christ our Lord
Amen

I am thinking of trying to publish these poems.

I have an interesting theory which says geography of the region in which the religion took birth played a major role in shaping and defining the religion. To elaborate, take for example the three religions of the book, Judaism, Christianity and Islam. These three religions took birth in the harsh climates of Middle East / Arabia amongst barren lands and nomads / bedouins, shepherds etc. This has played a very major role in shaping the governing principles / rules of these three religions. On the other hand look at Hinduism which has it's roots in the fertile Indus and Gangetic plains of the Indian sub-continent and amongst the more civilized people. The land was fertile, rivers were flowing full and vegetation aplenty. This must have influenced the people in the region to develop a softer and more tolerant mindset / mentality in general. Similarly, the harsh climatic conditions of the Middle East must have made the people in that region to become tough, aggressive etc. Comments please.

I've seen different quotes and stuff on the L word website saying that they're not too fond of their music. Is there a reason for that? I'm just curious to know because I love it.

Does the Bible say somewhere that God created language? How did they tell each other things? If there was this language, what would it be called? Hebrew?

I know that God had Adam name all of the animals, so obviously it wasn't a bunch of grunting like cavemen. Just wondering if anyone had any ideas about this.

ie: if veils are there to protect women from lustfull males, then isnt it the lustfull male that needs controlling. or are muslim men supposed for some reason to be less capable of controlling their sexual desire than the men of other cultures?
also...if you make sex such a rare comodity in a society [by shutting women away out of sight] doent this funnily enough lead to the problem of sexually frustrated males?

I'm heterosexual, but many of my girlfriends have told me of their desire to have sex with another woman, or their experience of having sex with another woman. I never had, and never had the desire to have sex with a woman. Is this unusual?

My father, who recently passed away, was well noted in his academic field. He was awarded several medals for his acheivments. His protoge, is a dear friend of the family, who went above and beyond in acts of kindness for my father and our family during these recent sad times.

In appreciation, my step-mother would like to give my father's protoge, one or two of the medals my father was awarded. I feel funny about this. He is in exactly the same field as my father, and one day he will likely be awarded the same medal. The medals have little intrinsic value and are valuable only in the honor that they bestowed.

I'd be agreeable to ask the protege if he would like one, but my step-mother wants to wrap it up and give it to him as a surprise.
I feel that could be awkward as I'm not sure he would it. Is there a way I could explain my feelings to my step-mother without appearing stingy?
