According to your beliefs, are there some people who are simply evil? As in tools of the devil?

Also, why was the devil cast out of heaven, according to the bible? I always thought it was b/c he asked too many questions and god was an arrogant asshole...

NEVER HAS THERE BEEN such an age of false teachers as this pitiful 20th century, so rich in material gadgets and so poor in mind and soul. Every conceivable opinion, even the most absurd, even those hitherto rejected by the universal consent of all civilized peoples—now has its platform and its own "teacher." A few of these teachers come with demonstration or promise of "spiritual power" and false miracles, as do some occultists and "charismatics;" but most of the contemporary teachers offer no more than a weak concoction of undigested ideas which they received "out of the air," is it were, or from some modern self-appointed "wise man" (or woman) who knows more than all the ancients merely by living in our "enlightened" modern times. As a result, philosophy has a thousand schools, and "Christianity" a thousand sects. Where is the truth to be found in all this, if indeed it is to be found at all in our most misguided times?

Today I wish you a day of ordinary miracles....A fresh pot of coffee you didn't have to make yourself. An unexpected phone call from an old friend. Green stop lights on your way to work. The fastest lane at the grocery store. A good sing-a-long song on the radio. Your keys right where you left them!

You know when people think that the symbol of one religion might be offensive to members of another?

Can anyone's faith be so unsure and weak, that they have only to see some symbol of another faith to think, "oo-er, I'm wavering, I think I'm going to join the other lot"?

It seems that our government is no longer by the people or for the people. They are there for the oil companies or there to feather their own nest. Shouldn't they be there for us? When are they going to get rid of all these illegal Immigrants?

When I moved from Christianity to Neo-Paganism there where a number of challenges. I moved from a very closed minded system where I had all the answers to a system that was open. It was clear that I was on an open ended path where there was way more to learn then one could possible learn in a life time. I also went from a black and white system of belief where one could simply reject something without really thinking about it to a system that was full spectrum. Nothing was just black or white, everything needed to be examined and thought about. Moreover now I had to credit people who disagreed with me as being intelligent and thoughtful individuals.

You add on top of that the rejection and accusations from family and all the friends I had at the time and it was a challenging move.

What are your thought?

By the by: Please don’t feel the need to judge or criticize my path. I’ve heard it all before and it will waste your time more then it will waste mine.

Being Agnostic, I believe that the Universe came about by the Big Bang Theory. But as yet no one has given a plausible theory as what was the catalyst. Could it have been God? Or an accidental coelescence of matter that caused it?
Can anyone provide me with a plausible theory for either cases?

Thank your for all who responded to why does religion seperate. Now to elaborate on the story. I told my friend I did not think that the bible was meant to be taken literally. There are too may perceptions which grants freedom. The same freedom god gives us with free will. NOw ask yourself this in gods eyes which is the bigger sin? TO lay with a may without love for the acceptance of a piece of paper, or to lay with a man with love; respect honesty, and compassion. I may not have a piece of paper that declares to the word the love I share with my lover, but what I do have is my own declaration of love without the world. And this is to me this is the convenant of marriage and the embrace of god. IS my friend a hypocrite. I dont think so. Just someone else who misconstrues the words. Just like we all tend to do

Why not say "Buddha", "Krishna" or "Joseph Smith"? Is it possible to go from in-vainly saying "God" and "Jesus" to say the names of other religious leaders? Can we change the trend? I will start and see if it will catch on.

Euphoria is meaningless as it is self-gratifying. If euphoria was meaningful, we'd all be on heroin. I know the sadness of the world gives us heavy hearts, but we can use our pain to lessen the pain of others, and in the end, our struggles and hardships will bond us.

It seems that most men are automatically looked apon as pediphiles if they interact with young children. What would happen if a parent demanded that their young child be switched to a different classroom solely because the teacher was male. Would the ACLU show up and sue or is this not consider a "politically correct" violation of the teacher's civil liberties?
