I hear you. Although I'm an atheist, before that I was catholic. For many years I simply didn't go to church because I despised it, but I didn't really question anything. I still believed it all; I just chose to sin!
When I finally started really thinking about things, I considered getting into a pagan/wiccan religion. Truth be told, I never really studied much about them, but I still came to the conclusion that it seemed a little like exchanging one god for another. Which is NOT a bad thing! I don't mean that. But the beliefs were so different from what I knew and had long accepted, that I just didn't find it natural to go there.
Perhaps I should have made the effort anyway. Congrats on making a successful break!

It is true, but you have to work on your fundations, which ever beief system you want to incorporate on your life, you will have to find strong roots into that belief system also you will have to seek people with the same mind set. Remember humans founded religion and religion beliefs, some of which are really popular and some of them are not, but now in today's society someone some where is analysing a new consept of philosopy. Now regarding friends and family; it is hard for them to accept change, think about that guy in Afganistan, which is primary muslym, who decided to be converted to Christianity and was incarcerated with the possibility of being executed. At least you are not in that sytuation. God luck and keep it real!

yeah, I was just talking to a friend of mine.....her and I both went to the same church....left that church and are now looking at different things....I really lean toward paganism and Native American spirituality....and I said to her this morning....how wonderful it is to be truly free! Because that's how I feel now. free! I hear you on the family thing too.....I grew up in a christian home, the judgment is astounding! But yeah, I think after being "programmed" for so long...you do catch yourself....but I'd never go back either....Best wishes to you!

Satan will always try to change our belief from Christianity; he did it with Adam and Eve saying eat from the fruit of this tree it will give you more knowledge, knowledge that God does not want you to have. You know the rest of the story so I won't go on.
All in all, it is easier to except changes when we are not strong in our belief. People confuse us with interpretations that are similar yet different, look at all the religions, all believe in GOD but in their own way. The only truth is thru the Bible, Jesus, and GOD.
If you get confused it's OK, ask questions, learn, God will give us the knowledge of truth when he feels we are ready to handle it.
I will pray for you that GOD opens your heart and mind to help you organize your confusion.
Amen

It kind of sounds like you need to find a medium size path. If not create it for yourself.
Congratulations on knowing everything about Christianity. I like Thomas Aquinas writing mostly on the fusion of Graeco-Roman philosophy and cosmology with Christianity. There aren't many other books that talk about the transitions to/from your philosophies.

Hey, its your beliefe. if you want to think another way, you think another way. you feel another way. i never fell for the whole religion thing. I mean, if i want to believe in a god, why do i have to be baptisied and go to communion, or have a bar mitzfah... i think thats commercializing so people can make money off a religion.
Your feelings are black and white. You feel something, or you dont. Easy as that.
Good luck!

I believe if you did full research on changing than why question it. Did you really make the wise decision and did you pray about your change. I believe that God shows us our way and where we are if we listen to him and not Satan. Remember only those that follow Christ will enter the kingdom of heaven.

It can be very difficult as I went through this process as well. You have to cleanse and deprogram yourself of all that you were forcefed growing up regarding religion. It can be tough to shake it, especially at first!
