It seems that most men are automatically looked apon as pediphiles if they interact with young children. What would happen if a parent demanded that their young child be switched to a different classroom solely because the teacher was male. Would the ACLU show up and sue or is this not consider a "politically correct" violation of the teacher's civil liberties?

That's a good question. After the JonBenet Ramsey case, I fear that more male teachers will be penalized.

My 2nd grade daughter has a male teacher and I went in there today to help out. He's great with the kids, and I'd hate to see someone like him be penalized for the ilk that are the real problems. But I know the thought did cross my mind after the John Mark Carr incident.

I think the transfer still must be up to the school to make the final decision. Sometimes there is not enough space in a classroom to move students from one classroom to another.

I think overall nothing would happen unless there was a reason for the child to switch classes. If the teacher was being inappropriate or was just not a good teacher then the move would be completed and there would be a punishment for the teacher. I think that if the reason for the move was strictly based on the gender of the teacher that they wouldn't really put much thought into it. The reason for that is that there are many schools that are overcrowded which means that classes are overcrowded. This in turn would make it harder to switch someone out of a class and into another one especially if the decision is only being based on gender. Lastly if the decision is only being based on gender of the teacher than the person asking for the switch has a clouded judgement and is just giving a bad rep to male teachers. Not all male teachers are bad. Remember there have been female teachers that have had relationships with their 12 or 14 year old students.

Why should someone assume a teacher is a pedophile simply because they are male? That is just sick.
While they are at it then they should get the female teachers out of the middle schools and high schools because they are also pedophiles. And not just allow females to become priests in the Catholic Church but ban all male clergy all together. Should I go on? See how it just doesn't make much sense?
No, no one should switch their child out of a classroom because the teacher is male. If there is a valid reason to suspect a certain teacher then the parent should inform the school and never let their child be alone with the teacher. Being male alone is not cause for suspicion.

i actually comprehend what you attempt to declare...yet i think of the days of 2nd classification parenting for fathers is over. no longer is it computerized for mothers to get custody of the babies as regards to divorce, if she is shown to be a miles less clever be certain. As for having finished administration over their very own reproduction - i'm afraid i won't trust sharing that selection making or maximum suitable with adult males. As a female, i do no longer desire others to have a say in my physique and what I do with it. yet once I settle directly to maintain a splash one that i'm instructed the daddy does not desire, i've got faith that this is then my sole duty to help and raise that youngster with out his information. Thats the only way that i will see fairness in removing him from the selection making technique...

It is a violation of civil liberties, but more appropriately, it's absurd and uncalled for.

I would hope that no school would consider such an absurd request.
