Lessons from Life: Contentedness Comes from A Kind Heart - good reminder about the well-known fact: money will not bring happiness to a man.

A materialistic life brings us only brief happiness, but a kind heart will give us a happy life. Not everyone understands that the value of life lies not in taking, but in giving. In one’s life, fame, self-interest and wealth are external and one can never be fully satisfied even if one pursues them at all times. Kindness is internal wealth. It is like a ray of sunshine that brightens our world and the people around us. Kindness is true love, affection and the beautiful feeling for all mankind. Kindness will give us a wonderful life. Kindness is like water. It nourishes a dry and thirsty heart. A kind hearted man does not treat everyone like an enemy. A kind hearted person is bound to be contented. He will not be bothered or manipulated by all kinds of troubles and conflicts. True joy and happiness reside in his heart.

why aren’t my children being taught science at school? things they can study and observe...Why are they being taught evolution that’s a theory/belief?? the way i see it...

Neither one is proven so why is govt funding the Religion of evolution??

It used to be that there were big campaigns to help curb litter. Does anyone recall the slogans on TV, Radio and even posters at school saying, "Give a hoot, don't pollute. Never be a dirty bird. In the city and in the wood, help keep America looking good!"

Nowadays, I see people everywhere just throwing trash on the ground, outside their vehicle in a parking log, and even on the street in front of their own house.

Litter in this country is getting to be a disgusting problem and really out of hand and I would like to know why.

Christians have expressed their belief that the bible is indirectly the word of God himself. In the bible, Hell is described thus...

"And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth" (Matthew 25:30).

"and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death" (Revelation 21:8).

(bad news if you've ever told a lie...)

the place of eternal punishment and torment, far from God's presence (Thessalonians 1:9).

My opinion is that I will not worship someone who has created hell.

I think it's totally wrong, but I've had a few people tell me that it's normal and it's part of growing up and getting all that crap out of the way. BUT i still say that's bull you should wait till your 16 at least. Any way I really would like to hear more opinions. (opinions that aren't all from males at least)

What to do? What to do? It's a great 2nd floor apartment, bright and light with high pitched ceilings. And I've put a lot of work into getting it set up just right. But now I don't know what to do. 20 years ago I lived above a couple who smoked for years, and came away with a smoke allergy which has not receded in time.

I was fine when the new guy moved in downstairs; I knew he smoked, but either he was trying to quit or taking it outside, because although I would see a cig in his mouth outdoors, it wasn't causing problems upstairs for me. But in the past month, something has happened: I am aware of the smokey smell the minute I walk in my door, andf on Monday it got so intense (sore throat, coughing flem, and itching so much I have to take Allavert.)
Can 't slee[ tonight worrying. It's going to get worse, because right now all my windows are open, the airconditioner fan is blowig and 2 toher fans are blowing. The open window thing won't work very well in winter. What ...

Often times, people tell me they "know God". Their version of God often differs from other people's version of God.. So do you know exactly what it is you are worshiping, and do you realize he is slightly different from everyone else's version?

Does this mean a lot of people are worshiping false Gods?

I'm muslim and i'm proud of it....but why some insist in deforming islam by saying u all are damned if u don't believe in quran and islam?
don't they realize that this provokes others and make them make fun of us?
