i seen this piece of writing a long time ago and love it .. i hope you enjoy it as much as i do
One day a father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to the country with the firm purpose of showing his son how poor people can be. They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be considered a very poor family.
On their return from their trip, the father asked his son, "How was the trip?" "It was great, Dad." "Did you see how poor people can be?" the father asked. "Oh Yeah" said the son. "So what did you learn from the trip?" asked the father.
The son answered, "I saw that we have one dog and they had four. We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden and they have a creek that has no end. We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have the stars at night. Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizon.
We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields that go beyond our sight. We have servants who serve us, but they serve others. We buy our food, but they grow theirs. We have walls around our property to protect us, they have friends to protect them."
With this the boy's father was speechless. Then his son added, "Thanks dad for showing me how poor we are."
Too many times we forget what we have and concentrate on what we don't have. What is one person's worthless object is another's prize possession. It is all based on one's perspective. Makes you wonder what would happen if we all gave thanks for all the bounty we have, instead of worrying about wanting more.

May the Good Lord bless you for your views, and amen to them all. The good Lord has made giving higher, and taking lower. The Sun shines from above. The water falls from above and if it falls on a mountain, which is pointing towards the Almighty ALL_GIVING LORD, the water is distributed to everyone around it. In contrast a hole in the ground can begin to stink as water collects, unless it is moving and nourishing as it moves!!
Even in the nature of things the Good Lord has embedded the truths that you speak of. When you love Rembrandt, you do not destroy his paintings. Similarly when you love the Almighty, you love those he felt were worthy of being created.
Ultimately kindness comes back to yourself in the form of the blessings of the MIghty One, who can not take from little joes like me and you, so He Almighty returns our little kindnesses to his creatures back. You have to be careful though, that you do not destroy your actions by doing them expecting rewards.
Imam Ali (a) said there are three types of Muslims. Those who do good out of fear of hell, and they are slaves in their mentality. Those who do good out of the hope of heaven are like a merchant who is doing good as a transaction with the Lord. But the best of Muslims is one who does good because that is the least one can do for a Lord who has given so much that we can never count his blessings. A good person feels so deeply indebted to the Mighty One and realizes that regardless of how kind you are or how good you are to someone, your kindness attitude itself was a blessing from the Lord.
In another saying of the Eight Imam, Imam Reza (a) he said we can not do any good or kind act unless three things are present, that are all provided by the ALMIGHTY LORD. First we must have something to give away that someone needs. Second we need to have a needy person to whom we can be kind to. What if we live in a forest and never come across anyone or any being to be kind to?? AND lastly we need to be given the inspiration for doing good, without which it may never occur to many people to do a certain good that they are very much capable of.
So, ultimately all kindness and good deeds are because of the LORD MOST HIGH and we have nothing to do with them actions.
I hope this makes sense too.

Wealthy are those who say "Alhamthulillah" meaning Allah's Goodness, which means one should be contented with what has been provided to him.
In the mean time, Allah warns the mankind that humans will seek for next river of wealth even if he has been given with one already .
Be contented...spend from what has been given to you by Allah....and claim the richness.

Anyway we will be unhappy.
Why don't we first make a million dollar and then be unhappy rather than be a pauper.
Acquire material wealth; rest will happen in due course.
You can continue to be kind with or without money. Others will like you if you are monied and kind.

Absolutely true.
However kindness alone is not enough, for a man, to experience wonderful life. You should not express kindness everywhere.. eg recently a middle aged man knocked our door at about noon time and very kindly, politely asked my wife for water, as my wife went inside to fetch him water that man entered our drawing room and picked up my cell phone.. fortunately, I came out of my bedroom and noticed him doing so...he started running but I chased him and gave him left and right.
You expect to show kindness to that rouge???
The real happiness comes to a man through kindness,I agree, but a man should come out of his EXPECTATIONS, laziness, negative thinking, jealousy, etc in order to enjoy full satisfaction in his life..
