In the form of a question...Who does God think He is? How dare He tell me what to do!? I know that God established the Church and all, but how dare God have Ministers preach sermons that identify me as a sinner! We arn't to judge so I guess Ministers are never supposed to preach against sin. Right? WRONG! If God declares something as being sin then, His Ministers and Christians should judge the "thing" as sin and the person who is doing the "thing" as a sinner! This ain't hard theology folks...or is it? Mankind needs to get with the program.

I hear this alot. let me hear your explantions for how you know that this is ttruelly the case.
Keep in mind this verse when you answer
HEB 6:4 It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, 5 who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age, 6 if they fall away, to be brought back to repentance, because to their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace

i am a women of mexican heritage, but first & foremost i am an american, born & raised. that is not to say i am not proud of my mexican heritage, because i am. i speak spanish, try to cook mexican meals, i come from a big loud mexican family on the east side of l.a. but i will always identify myself as american 1st & i take pride in that.
that being said, i am tired of people assuming that because i am a mexican women, that i am pro illegal immigration & i'm a liberal democrat & i need some "champion" like antonio villaraigoisa to speak on my behalf. none of the forementioned is true. i believe if you are here illegally, you need to be deported & absolutely should not reap the benefits of our tax paying dollars. i believe if come to the U.S. to work, live and play, you should learn engish. i believe you shouldn't get preferential treatment simply because you're a minority. & i'm tired of being told i "sound white" simply because i speak properly. i guess i need to sound like a chola.

Please explain why other religions are incorrect. Like Hinduism, Islam, etc. Try to explain without the use of "my bible says", "my church says"... explain to me as if you wanted to disprove them, and not prove yours.

thank you for being serious

Christian can you remember to teach with humilityand patience and speak the truth in love and give reasons for why you believe?

Non Christian can you stop being so rude on purpose because many of the Christians here are only trying to be sincerely helpful, and can you also distinguish between a true and false Christians instead of generalizing all Christian horrible because of some bad because no real Christian can practice sin and that is how you will know them by their love?

I asked myself what I believed. I had never prayed a lot. I hoped hard, I wished hard, but I didn't pray. I had developed a certain distrust of organized religion growing up, but I felt I had the capacity to be a spiritual person, and to hold some fervent beliefs. Quite simply, I believed I had a responsiblity to be a good person, and that meant fair, honest, hardworking, and honorable. If I did that, if I was good to my family, true to my friends, if I gave back to my community or to some cause, if I wasn't a liar, a cheat, or a thief, then I believed that should be enough. At the end of the day, if there was indeed some Body or presence standing there to judge me, I hoped I would be judged on whether I had lived a true life, not on whther I believed in a certain book, or whether I'd been baptized. If there was indeed a God at the end of my days, I hoped he didn't say, "But you were never a Christian, so you're going the other way from heaven." If so, I was going to reply, "You know what? You're right. Fine."

In Deuteronomy 18:20-22 says,"But any prophet who claims to give a message from another god or who falsely claims to speak for me must die. You may wonder, 'How will we know whether the prophecy is from the LORD or not? If the prophet predicts something in the LORD's name and it does not happen, the LORD did not give the message. That prophet has spoken on his own and need not be feared." ONLY 1 FALSE PROPHECY WILL PROVE THAT HE IS A FALSE PROPHET. "False Prophecies of Joseph Smith" lists 54 false prophecies given by Joseph Smith that never came true. Many of these were dated so the Mormon can't say, "it just hasn't happened yet." For example, Doctrine & Covenants 84:1-5 says that Smith received a revelation in 1832 from Jesus Christ telling him that before that current generation passed away, a temple would be built in the western boundaries of Missouri. Christians would say that a generation is 40 years, but let's use the Mormon definition of 100 years. So a hundred years from 1832 would be 1932. That was 70 years ago and there still is no temple in that location, and there couldn't be anyone still alive from that time because they would have to be over 170 years old. So that's one false prophesy that couldn't be true. In a book written by Smith called "History of the Church", Volume 2, page 182, Smith says in 1835 he received a revelation from God that Smith was commanded to tell the people, that the Lord was going to return in 56 years. That would mean that Christ should have returned in 1891. We know that didn't happen. So again, Joseph Smith gave a false prophesy. These two false prophesies, plus the other 52 that are documented in the new book, is ample evidence that Smith was a false prophet and God says we are not to have anything to do with a man like this. As for the need for prophets today and the need to receive continuing revelation, the Bible is very clear. Hebrews 1:1-2 says that God used to speak to the fathers through the prophets, but today He speaks through His son, Jesus Christ. In Luke 16:16 it says that John the Baptist was the last prophet because Jesus came after him. So not only was Joseph Smith a false prophet, the Bible says that the prophets of the Old Testament ended with John. The language in the Old Testament was Hebrew and the Hebrew definition of the word 'prophet' meant one who brings us God's word. In the New Testament, the Greek language was the predominate one used. The Greek word for prophet is defined as one who preaches from God's word.

This is more than an Christian v Atheist question.

I believe that man wrote all religious texts in an effort to explain the inexplicable. No man really knows the answer.

What do you believe?
