Church people only why? Cause only church people know.

But you know what, the church people I know aren't telling, and that's why I'm coming to Yahoo Answers.

Maybe it's a delicate question and church people don't want to answer in person. Maybe it's an embarrassing question. Maybe it begs other questions that bother church people, or perhaps it causes them irkage.

But here at Yahoo Answers all you church people can answer anonymously. Tell us when your soul was made!

And don't tell me all souls and angels have always existed, cause that puts them on equal footing with God, and I already know church people can't allow that.

Come on, church people, now's the chance, divulge the nitty-gritty.

Here is the question: When does the human soul originiate? At birth? At conception? At the beginning of the world? At some other time? Specify.

If all souls were made at the same time, tell us a little about that.

I've seen quite a few comments and questions in the direction of "why do atheists hate god?".

How did thid come about and if you think this way I'd like to know why!

Believe it or not, I do respect your opinions! So please let me know what you think.

I'm an atheist - that means I don't believe in a god(s). It's that simple. It's not that I think there is one and I don't like / hate it - I don't think there is one. This is due to the complete lack of proof.

Its really a lame comparison because its 2006 not the middle ages. The world should be modern and civilized and not barbaric.

when i lived in sin -i looked for reasons to reject-the God of heaven-the bible had to be so wrong-jesus had to be a liar and a deciever -as i was taught.
yet as time went on i saw movies like the Passion of Christ, Jesus of Nazareth, and the robe-and thought seeing what was based on the bible-Jesus isnt a bad man-
yet i believed the hypothisis or there is no God that is knowable-maybe he was here thousands of years ago for Moses but he abandoned us-we have no blood sacrifice for sins-Moses said-"The life of the flesh is in the blood and ive given it to make atonement for your souls."
Isaiah gave the fulfillment-chapters 52 vs 13-53 vs 12 "He shall be exaulted (second comming) but first marred more than any man, and to lay down his life to make an atonement for our sins, He will be despised and rejected, and then see his seed (spiritual) and prosper," Millions of gentiles and Jews-know Him. I prayed as Rev.3vs19&20 says-Jesus be my Messiah, come into my heart, imSorryAmen

Agnostic, don't want to convert anyone.

Someone just asked why is it so hard to believe without proof. Without proof its a potential trap, leading to belonging to the "wrong religion". South Park last night illustrated this quite well, showing that the Mormon religion might be made up, but Mormons today follow what they think is right and they learn in their religion about love and family. The stan charachter didn't want to be friends with the Mormon cause he was "lied to". But in the end the kid said I believe on faith that Joseph Smith talked to God and only offered you friendship. Stan's friends thought he was cool.

I am of the belief when I die my soul will journey throughout the solar system observing planetary orbits and join with souls of loved ones.

I have no empirical evidence. I have faith. I never ask anyone to belief what I do since I have no hard evidence. I tell them in my belief you will be with me when I die anyway.

Without evidence are all faiths equal?

At my current job, we were blazer jackets when it is not the summer, and during the summer - they come up with a "summer uniform". This summer, my uniform was the wrong size, so I asked them to order me a different size. They wouldn't re-order for me, and I have been wearing last summer's uniform (it changes each yr) and we had a corporate visit, and they said I can't wear last years uniform, have to wear this years, or the blazer.
My boss is saying that I have to wear the blazer now through the year, because the "summer is almost over anyway."
Mind you, I live in New York where it can get pretty damn hot in the summer. Today it is probably late 80's...and I have to wear this jacket to work starting at noon!!!
What do you think I should do about it?
Thanks for your help! I appreciate it!!

Isn't part of being faithful believing without seeing? Why the emphasis on proving the validity of a religion?

People should all have rights. Civil rights, human rights. But why should any habit confer additional rights on anyone? This would be true if your habit was inoffensive and benign, but even more so if you habit is disgusting, offensive and a health hazard.

If people developed the habit of eating raw excrement would we allow them to eat it in public? Would we let them eat it at their desk at work? Would we let them stand outside the entries to public buildings eating their crap and leaving the leftovers lying around on the ground?

Is smoking any different? It stinks, is gross and represents a health hazard, just as a dung-eating habit would do. So why do we let the fiction of "smoker's rights" even enter into the conversation.

You do not have extra rights (the right to pollute, annoy, endanger) because you have acquired a filthy and dangerous habit.
