Aren't there virtually an unlimited number of possible ideas for which there is no evidence? How do you choose which idea to believe in, if you're just supposed to accept on faith? A person can choose to have faith in anything.

A self-proclaimed Christian who claims to believe the Bible but denies half of what it teaches, or a Christian who believes the Bible is the inerrant Word of God from start to finish and does not doubt one word of it? Just curious.

Religions today are not the same as they were 2000y ago !
why?
let's see what bible says "the First Epistle to Timothy, which states: "I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she is to keep silent."
or visit this link " http://abcnews.go.com/WNT/story?id=2339673&page=1 "

actually not a single religion did respect the women or make them equal to men (before the 20th century)..
does GOD today approve things he/she/it did not approve 2000 or 3000y ago?
3000y ago it was OK to stone people..
no one was allowed to change his faith, in every religion renegades must die..

does that mean GOD's law is not suitable all the time and for every situation?

didn't the old people understand the words of GOD? if they didn't, why GOD didn't intervene?
does that mean all those people killed "for" GOD died invain?
what about the crusades.. the inquisitions.. all the atrocities done in the name of GOD,

As in ....This is my fathers new car? I know how to sign two different signs for "father", but I need to know what do I do when I need to add an "S". Not just to the word "father", but to any word that needs an "s" added to it. Do I just leave the S off? Would I sign it like... "This is my father car." ?!?

Here's the facts:

1) They don't seem to like women much. The mere sight of them, especially without being 100% coverred in black tents, puts them in a dither.

2) Muslim men hold hands in public, and kiss each other a lot.

I don't know about yhou, but these behaviors are awfully gay in my book.

Ok well my boyfriend and I just broke up after 4 years. 3 years ago I got his name tattooed on my shoulder. It says "Wilson para siempre" (which means forever in spanish, but I guess it should have said for 4 years lol) We have a little girl together and b/c of that I will always care about him so should I keep the tat there? But on the other hand, I'm afraid that if/when I get into another relationship, it will bother that person that another guys name is on my shoulder. What should i do??? Can something like that be easily covered? HELP!

When reporting a user we may choose an Abuse Category in which our complaint may be classified. I was shocked not to find a Racism/Discrimination category. However there was a category "Not in correct language". Does this make any sence? Seriously, which is more important? Are the people at Yahoo! even aware of the amount of discrimination on their site? Take a look in the Religion/Spirituality section; loads of discrimination there, especially directed at muslims. Can Yahoo give reasonable arguments as to why they are allowing it?

Let's face it-- an eternity bowing before the Throne, singing "Alleluia", doens't sound like fun to me.

But suppose instead of that, Heaven is like the greatest Amusement Park ever. Don't you think that after, say, a trillion or so eons you'd have done everything you could possilby do billions of times over and you'd get terribly BORED? Until you were begging for the sweet release of oblivion? Yet no matter how lo-o-o-o-o-ong you'd been there, you'd still have an eternity ahead of you!

Heaven would become Hell eventually.

And think of it: You would never really be secure there. God could always kick you out of Heaven if he felt like it. Why not? Didn't he kick out 1/3rd of his angels? Then he could do it to YOU!

I ain't going to Heaven. No one deserves to go to Hell. So I'm staying right here. So there!

There is not a single non-theist who wouldn't believe if he/she saw a real supernatural miracle, so why do you think there were such a lot of non-believers fighting against prophets even in those ancient times. Isn't it clear that the prophets couldn't prove their claims.
They wanted people to believe them. Some believed, some didn't.
If the prophets had really proved their claim, the words "believe" or "not believe" wouldn't even be used.Because everybody would be satisfied and everybody would "know".If there is a real proof (not a magic), why should some people choose not to believe with their free will. For example, if Jesus really raised someone from dead, who could say that it was a trick or magic. Who would choose not to believe him?

If God is so much more than Human, His Word so much more than anything human, how do you determine whether your (sinful) humanity causes you to misunderstand scripture?

How can anyone as sinful as a human understand the Word of God?

I have always thought that any religion that believe that Christ is our only savior was considered Christian. Regardless of the denomination. However I have a friend that is Catholic and he refuses to identify himself as a Christian. What do you think? Do you consider yourself a Christian or a totally different religion all together?

I'd love to hear what Catholics think but all thoughtful answers are welcome.
