Aren't there virtually an unlimited number of possible ideas for which there is no evidence? How do you choose which idea to believe in, if you're just supposed to accept on faith? A person can choose to have faith in anything.

thats what you call faith and mystery combined... if u dont have faith and u dont practice it, ull never learn how to trust anybody..not even ur mom, ur dad, ur wife...no one.. same thing when u practice things based on faith regarding religion... there are a lot of things in this world that u really cant explain,,, but will it hurt if u find to believe in one of those things? its about preference, its about belief... its about what you think is right,,, it all based on YOU as a person... u have the will power to choose which u think is best for you...
its all about believing and respecting people on what they believed in, same way you wanted to be respected with what u do and ur beliefs...

It is a good thing because you have a foundation of belief.
If we had no limitations of belief the world would be a chaotic and paranoid place. The less rational of use would be running about town with their socks duct taped to their pant legs muttering something about leprechauns trying to steal their shins.

Some churches ask their followers to accept blindly because lies are being taught and if they had to explain, or prove, things, they couldn't.
Romans 10:17 .....faith FOLLOWS the thing heard.
In other words, faith is a result of study, research, proving things to oneself.
