I heard that Portuguese is closer to italian than spanish, but I want to know everyone elses point of view.

Dates work by a hierarchical system, days make months, months make years, so it makes sense to write the days first, then the month, then the year. Why would anyone write it month first, then day, then year? It's just stupid.

eg. 13th August 2006 should be:

13/08/2006

not

08/13/2006

The USA, Canada, Philippines and some other tiny places are the only ones to use the mm/dd/yy format.

It would more than double the amount of land to bury people on if we would be buried standing up. Why not with a glass coffin and approx.1 1/2 foot sticking up out of the ground so we could see whats going on! Any takers?

Does anyone else have a fear of porous surfaces? I am seriously terrified of them... It's my only phobia. I think it all started when I saw this frog at a museum:

It carries its eggs in little holes in its BACK... the one in the museum just had the dried up holes, not the eggs as in the above picture.

And then it worsened when some horrible EVIL person linked me the following picture. I vomited when I first saw this, and to this day it's the most horrifying image I have ever seen in my life...

Now tell me, if you didn't already have a fear of porous surfaces, do you have one now? How about after you imagine all the skin on your body having little half inch holes in it, little pockets, just too small for you to stick a pinkie finger in...

Please, no "wet-back" jokes. This is a serious question. I've lived in Southern California for 10 years now, and I've noticed a specific behavioral trait among Latin Americans -- most of them Mexican. When they go swimming in the ocean, they always wear a t-shirt. Women wear it over their bathing suits. Men often wear shorts instead of bathing trunks, then add a t-shirt on top. What's the deal?

contractors to redo your house seems when people just hand over money for someone to fix something the get ripped off so i say personally pay later(NEVER experienced it personally ) after the job is complete but then what if they need the money for building matrials then what??????

I've been lightening my skin with the best skin lightner my dermatologist gave me (it was prescribed)
Now I have white skin, i look like i white girl now b/c i died my hair blonde too! even if my hair was still brown, i'd still look like a white girl though. i cant beleive it... i kinda miss being 'black'. White guys like me alot too. i probably wont tell them i used to be black haha
but yeah if you dont beleive. ill be willing to show you before and after pics? i have them ready. just send a msg. :)
