Arms length, If he/she is closer that is invading your space.
Just like you'd teach a child dont get to close to strangers.

About arm's length...any closer than that, and I start to move. I'm a little picky about my personal space. I want to feel like I can breathe or turn around without bumping into someone. I HATE when I get in line to pay for groceries or a resturant meal, and I feel like the person behind me is reading the info off my check or credit card number.

For every person it is different I dont like people to be within about 1 foot of me or I feel invaded. Except of course with people I know

Well, human, it really depends on your culture and your status with individual members of said culture. My homeworld does not recognize the "personal space" concept as we are bound mentally in the space-time continuum.

Stand and stretch your arms straight out at your sides, & rotate in a circle. Anything/body that comes within that circle is too close.

An arms-length or closer. Think of the scene in Dirty Dancing ('This is my dance space, this is your dance space') and if they are in that circle, they are too close.

Yeah. And we'd desire to continuously all do the superb suited opposite of what our instincts tells us to do, like yet another Seinfeld episode! Like we'd desire to continuously skinny dip interior the lake of hearth, that is relaxing!

Closer than 1 1/2 feet. I can't stand closer-talkers. It's one of my biggest pet peeves.

Within arm's length

I don't much like being touched by anyone I don't know really well, so you could be three feet from me, reach out to touch my shoulder and give me the creeps.
