Why can I easily imitate any accent I want, but a non-english speaker almost always has a noticeable accent unless they try very hard? Is this observation wrong?

It is true that Christianity has spread widely but how has this happened? Until the 15th century Christianity was largely confined to Europe. After this, European armies spread throughout the world forcing their religion on the people they conquered. In most conquered countries (e.g. Sri Lanka, the Philippines, Taiwan and parts of India) laws were passed banning all non-Christian religions. By the late 19th century brute force was no longer used to enforce belief but, under the influence of the missionaries, colonial administrators tried to hinder non-Christian religions as much as possible. Today the spread of Christianity is supported by lavish financial assistance which missionaries get largely from the U.S.A. So Christianity has spread not because of its inherent superiority but because of violence in the past and wealth today.

Whether Christianity is the world's largest religion is a matter of definition. Can we consider the Mormons, the Moonies and the Jehovah's Witnesses to be Christians? Can we consider the numerous strange cults and sects that flourish in South America and Africa, and which account for many millions of people, to be Christian? Most Protestants don't even consider Catholics to be Christians! If we deny that all the heretical, heterodoxist, cultic and bizarre Christian groups are 'real' Christians, this would probably make Christianity one of the smallest religions in the world. This would also explain why the Bible says that only 144,000 people will be saved on Judgement Day (Rev 14:3-4).

The source of this idea is Jefferson's Letter to the Danbury Baptists, where he states:

"I contemplate with soverign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should 'make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof,' thus building a wall of separation between Church and State."

Bascially there are two schools, and each argues a different view:

separationists: argue that Jefferson's letter reveals the original intent of the First Amendement clause regarding freedom of religious expression, and

anti-separationists: either claim that Jefferson's letter is irrelevant or say that it supports the guarantee that religion can exist without gov't influence, not separation

Just because this idea is not in the U.S. Constitution, does that mean that it is not one that we should follow?

If that's the case, why do we have laws beyond the Constitution (at Federal, State, and Local levels)?

I don't know about you guys, but I don't remember being taught about the various kinds of birth control when I went through sex ed in the 7th grade. Maybe it's differant in differant places, but for me, it was just "This is what your body is like, this is how sex works, but don't do it untill you're married." Luckily, my mom did tell me about condoms, the various pills and patches, and other forms of birth control. I think if more teenagers were taught about birth control options in schools, less of them would be getting pregnant/getting their girlfriends pregnant.

What do you think? Should schools include birth control in their sex ed curriculum? Why or why not? Would you, as a parent, teach your kid about birth control? How old do you think they should be when you tell them about it?

I just found a website that illustrates perfectly how deception is being used by a certain religion to draw uneducated curious people into their trap.

http://www.speed-light.info/

It's jam packed with pseudoscience and ridiculous conclusions. Anyone who is even remotely educated in physics and astronomy will get a big laugh out of this. The worst part is that the authors of this website have actually changed parts of the Koran to support their claims.

Is this acceptable? Is this right? Is this honest?

I'm hoping for serious answers from those whose faith is Islam.

I know about the 'virgins in heaven' thing - but I'm hoping that is only a radical Islamist view.

A clear interpretation would be appreciated.

Samuel Johnson, English Author & Lexicographer stated:

"Every man has the right to utter what he thinks is truth, and every other man has the right to knock him down for it. Martyrdom is the test."

And that is support the Israel Zionists. Think about it- Israel only wants the small piece of land, but Shiites want to consume the entire Middle East and swallow the entire Ummah into some giant Kafar Shiite "Islamic" Republic.

But Israel is fighting the Shiite devils of Hezbollah and their Iranian shiite supporters. If we Sunnis give Israel permission to destroy the Shiite scourge wherever it is, then we will be rid of the biggest problem.

As a wise man once said, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Should we embrace the Zionists ?
