F.R.O.G said "both"
How messed up is religion?
If you are religious and have ever ate shrimp or pig, you might want to ask someone for a mercy killing.

If we are to believe the Republicans, engaging in extramarital sex (ie. Clinton) is far worse than lying about the reasons to go to war, therby killing thousands of American soldiers (ie. Bush)

Well, the last time I looked at The Ten Commandments, it didn't say anything about extramarital sex, only adultery. It damn sure does say something about killing, though -- pretty cut-and-dried on that one!

Unless you're a total nut case, you will realize that killing is not acceptable in a civilized society (that in itself excludes Islam). Adultery is not nice, it destroys a lot of relationships, ruins lives (mainly if there are children involved) but it is still a consenting act between two adults.

On the question of "sinfullness" they are seen as the same.
My question is what happened the to the other half of the couple involved in "crimes against chastity" because that involves more that one person. Iranian culture is very strict upon their female population and is an issue that needs to be addressed.

both are sins, so are equally sinful. I guess you could ask which is worse, but that is hard to judge. God says they're all the same, and humans generally would think the first example a worse sin.

Both are equal in God's eyes but killing is more sinful in the eyes of man.

i'm going to have to say killing people for it. if an extramarital affair is found out, noone loses their life. then again, i cannot answer for a god or if an all powerful being even exists.

Think in it that way, if somebody engaged in extra martial sex , they may regret it later.. and feel bad about it and ask for forgiveness..
If you kill them.. you killed this possibility.. you made them die sinfully
Killing them is more sinful.

Killing them is actually justified by Law... but since we all commit sins punishable by death, isn't it better to show Mercy like Jesus told us?
