As I read about history, religion, etc. I keep hearing comments like this: Abraham was the father/origin/precursor of three big religions: Islam, Christianity, and Judaism. I am unfamiliar with this concept. How did all three religions spring from this one man (or his people), etc.? Please advise. Serious answers only please! Thanks.

Im sitting here worried about my car payment.....stuck in a dead end job...I work all day until 5...it leaves no time to apply elsewhere...how can I get out of this rut ? The question is often asked of non-Christians from Christians, that what if the non-Christian is wrong, where will their soul be after they die? The Christian belief is that in order to be saved one needs to believe that Jesus was God (more to it obvioiusly).

But my question is, what if this is wrong? The Bible teaches in 1 John 2:22 that all who speak other wise are liars if they don't proclaim Jesus is God. What if the New Testement was altered by the Devil to trick you into believing falsely about Jesus? And the parts about it being the truth and all else is lies is meant to psychologically keep you believing it and not investigate its validity - and find the Truth?

Since we are talking about your soul and what happens to it when you die, isn't it neccessary to approriately investigate the claims made that Jesus is not a savior, that he wasn't God? You wouldn't want your soul to end up in the wrong place would you? I wouldn't want that to happen to you soul. -Thanks

I'm 13 yrs old, and I've tried the whole "being responsible" thing already. (It didn't work.) Everyone I know is allowed to hang out with their friends around the city, going to movies and shopping and stuff, without any adults around.

I'm missing out on all the parties and oppurtunities to have fun because my Mom is an overprotective control freak! My Dad and step-mom agree that I should be allowed to hang out with my friends too, but my Mom is holding me back. How do I convince her that I'm old enough to do things alone?

I believe in God and I believe in heaven and hell. I don't think that you have to go to chruch to praise God and I don't think that it is right to preach to ppl of any religion. I hate when ppl bring God up to me in a way of saying I am sinning by not following Gods word and going to hell for that. I read the Bible sometimes but not like ppl say I should. What religon would I be considered ppl always ask what religion are you and I have NO IDEA?
