You know they're just gonna say he was misguided and ignorant. Although I personally think he was just more enlightened than the rest.

He did know Thomas Edison was an Atheist, most innovators are and even Christians have to admit that.
He was calling him an idiot but not in a manner that diminished his accomplishments as an inventor and scientist. His criticism was in context of religion, in god's garden. Intelligence cannot protect you from idiocy. Some of the greatest minds in human existance couldn't feed themselves reliably or carry on conversations with common working men. Idiocy is a measure of wisdom as much as intelligence. I believe Methuselah was questionning his wisdom for denying the existance of god with less effort than he invested in the religion of science.
