Because prophecy is vague. For example, a key sign of the end times is tension in and around Israel. The first major period of tension I recall was The Crusades (Nine crusades between the late 1000's and late 1200's). The most recent conflicts in my analysis started in 1927, where Arabs massacred Jewish settlers from Europe.
My point is that "Tension and conflict around Israel" is common. It's like saying that the sky will be blue the day before the world ends. Worldwide conflict, disease, famine, always happen - it's part of natural life on earth. Prophecy simply isn't specific, and out desire to believe keeps it alive.

Yes, our dear Earth is breathing her last breaths...her lifetime, as it is now, will be over in about 90+ years...
What exciting times to be living in, don't you think? We may not actually be part of this awesome phenom, but maybe our children, and certainly our grandchildren, will be...they will get to experience a time in history like the Great Flood, the Ice Age, and the like! And they will also witness the "calm before the storm"...the peace that will come when everyone finally realizes that power, money, material things that they've been covetting, are useless, meaningless, and will not save the planet or their humanity...a knowing that will come that we have each been a part of all that is...always & all ways...it will be the grandest time of spirit growth there ever was!

That's a load of superstitious bunk that organized religion has arranged as a way of controlling great masses of people.
The world is a mess because of corporate greed, criminal politicians and the biggest trouble maker of them all ... organized religion.
The world would be a more peaceful place if there was no religion.

Maybe God thought the world has gone on for too long. It's gotta come to an end sometime!

Religious groups and the media want you to feel that way. It's really not. It might be close to the end of the U.S. empire, but not the world.

I have been around long enough to have experienced other times when the world seemed to have gone crazy. Sadly, it's another one of those times.

people have been asking that for thousands of years, and the end never comes. Deal with the fact that there is no scheduled rapture or armaggedon.
