...when creationists quote first-year biology text books to talk about some complex part of the animal kingdom just to say 'can evolution explain that?'

like

1) anybody who isn't a creationist ought to have an advanced knowledge of biology

and

2) 'God did it' is somehow supposed to be the assumed, and perfectly reasonable, alternative.

Only asking.. because people say I have lots of gay friends so why can't they adopt kids.?

I say what does that have to do with it, and the questions surrounding the morality of such adoptions.

Aheist know they cant be100% sure that God is not real and for that matter even right in front of their face. But they will use reverse logic(their weapon of choice) and think they have made a winning argument. They love to use pointless philosophical mumbo-jumbo that goes in circles(circular logic) which is the trend in philosophy nowadays to prove that nothing is relative and reality is perception and nothing more(which is bullcrap). My hand is my hand, real is real, fake is fake thats logic for you. Something cant come of nothing, to have a product you must have a producer. If you believe you came out of nothing you are either God or highly delusional. God is at work and is working and has witnesses in the earth right now. Its your problem if you cant see the hand of God at work. Aheist are like ants moving on top of mans shirt "asking where is the man?" Im not gonna break your logic into pieces here aheist but I ll be glad if you would email . God dosent believe in athiests

I don't know if I would even want to come back. Life is tough, even for those who supposedly have it good. According to the Hindus and Buddhists, life is samsara, meaning suffering. Yes, there are joys in living life, but with these attachments come the fall of them being taken away.

Nothing can be held onto in life. Maybe that is why certain religions developed the concept of putting your treasures in heaven where neither moth or rust can destroy.

I don't know, maybe a little suffering here and there is not so bad. It really depends on whether you have a down to earth life affirming philosophy or one that is more so escapist. Maybe as we spend time on the ethereal plane we recharge enough to desire a return.

Whatever the case I hope I am born into a vegetarian family and or culture that is also for the most part tolerant of various lifestyles and religions/philosophies.

If so, why did he not intervene to correct the MANY mistranslations in the later editions of the bible that cause people to argue and fight??? Why did god not guide the editors and translators to put gods words down with ACCURACY?
Free Will is obviously not the issue, or he would not have 'guided' the authors originally, surely?

we are good people whom try to go about every day living like everyone else, when it takes one stupid, person to make a comment about what we do. If you hang around someone not knowing about their sexuality and they seem like a nice person then, why change your attitude when you find out that their gay, as long as they don't aprouch you in a rude manor, there's no disrespect.

Last night at the meeting we had a surprise guest! None other than "Clancy" Himself!!

He walked into the room with a his usual AA halo on his head and a crucifix was sticking out of his butt; he was chanting many excellent AA slogans. What a special ocassion! I felt sooooo blessed to be in his presence that I took a **** right on the floor next to him!

Oh Jesus, save me know from the demon booze! The brain I have has never worked well for me and I will never be able to resist the temptation of drink. Can I please have another brain, that works? Jesus Please, take me HOME! NOW!

First, various types of phagocytes, which are called the "the eater cells" will swing into action. Then the macrophages, another specific type of phagocytes, take their turn. They all destroy the enemy by engulfing it. Macrophages also perform other duties such as summoning other defence cells to the battleground, and raising the body temperature. The rise in temperature at the onset of a sickness is very important, for the afflicted the person will feel fatigued by it and need to rest, thus reserving the energy needed to fight against the enemies.
If these elements of the immune system prove insufficient against the enemies penetrating the body, then lymphocytes, the champions of the system, come into play. Lymphocytes are of two types; B cells and T cells. These are again further divided into sub groups.
The helper T cells are next in reaching the battleground after the macrophages.

Alright, to let you know right off the bat, I am an agnostic. However, I am curious as to how you would resolve this contradiction. So, your born again, saved or whatever and now your dead. You go to heaven where all your desires come true. Now, lets assume for a moment that one of your parents died when you were in your teens and you loved him/her very much. Unknown to you they were not saved, born again or whatever. We can say the dead parent was a good person, or we can say the dead parent was a bad person. Either way, wouldn't it be a punishment to you to not see this person you so loved in the afterlife? Would God be showing his love by denying you those you cherished on earth and spent the remainder of your life in anticipation of seeing after your own death? Just curious.

Do you REALLY believe that if you read something that purports to disprove your beliefs, you would lose your faith? Is your faith really that weak?
WHY are so many of you quite literally SCARED to look into possibilities(notice I did not say 'facts') that some, if not all, of what you believe may be mistaken?
I know some that have done well to educate themselves to many beliefs yet retained their faith, yet know others(lots of) that are genuinely afraid to read anything non-christian for fear they will lose the comfort of their religion and be led astray...do priests still teach not to look at both sides?
For a classic example, evolution. If those who doubt it's feasibility actually READ about it, they really would not look so stupid when trying to discredit it when clearly knowing little about the subject, save hearsay.

why do basic standards of historical, literary, scientific, and philosophical protocol and methodology used in every academic subject apparently NOT apply to anything having to do with Christianity? Is "faith" just a cop-out to avoid the truth?

I remember a couple years back when the ossuary of "James the Brother of Jesus" was "discovered" and boy were the Christians thrilled to proclaim it real after preliminary tests... too bad that a thing called scientific method (rechecking "facts") later proved it to be a fraud. Isn't "faith" (when used in context of religion) just another way of saying "lack of critical thinking skills"? Why aren't Christians (and religions in general) more curious to see if their beliefs can survive the same objectivity and standards of every other non-religious belief? No respectable academic would form a theory without testing it against all known facts, and then reexamining all evidence. Does lack of skepticism just = stupidity or is there another answer?
