we are good people whom try to go about every day living like everyone else, when it takes one stupid, person to make a comment about what we do. If you hang around someone not knowing about their sexuality and they seem like a nice person then, why change your attitude when you find out that their gay, as long as they don't aprouch you in a rude manor, there's no disrespect.

I guess some people are just afraid of things that are different from their own lives. I agree, it's not about sexuality, it's about the true inner person.

Because they have nothing better to do dear. I've been through this so many times. It works both ways. I know some straight people that are cool with me...until they find out that I'm gay, then all of a sudden they keep their distance and make little comments like "I'm not gay or anything, but you look cute in that dress." when before there was no need to say such a thing.
Or, people who never spoke to me a day in their live except to say 'what's up' or something of the like, as soon as they find out I'm a lesbian, then all of a sudden I'm cool, like it's a requirement to be in some sort of after school group, lol.
Just nod and smile, it makes things like that look humorous.

I agree. I have a gay friend and she is a gay person. It doesn't bother me at all. I don't know why people are so cruel and stupid. I think some people are intimidated. Maybe if they were to hang around you, they might find themselves questioning their sexuality too. The just might find they have gay tendencies or a gay bone somewhere in their body. Everyone deserves a chance.

I am straight but really get where your coming from. I mean if your okay with it be okay, don't turn around and bash them. I had a conversation with some one recently about gay marriage. I said that gay people should be able to marry and get all the benefits that come with marriage. He said that gays should be allowed to marry but not be able to get their spouses insurance."What, what, WHAT?" This is civil rights people!
Why are people rude or make comments about gay couples, they are just like us! Leave them alone!!!

Because they know that you have NO clue what they are doing in bed with another person. Straight people have a tendency to judge gays/lesbians by what they do in bed rather then who they are as human beings. Decent people are gay and lesbians and what they do in bed is none of anyones buisness. Straight people are not forced to explain why they do certain things in bed.
There are alot of Straight people that are NOT DECENT and we don't even want to know what they are doing in bed. SMILE

We are an easy group to make fun of.

In addition you get the gays that decide to never come out and become zealot homophobes. They really make things bad for the rest of us.

The book of Leviticus doesn't help us either.

those people, thankfully, are not the majority. I do have lots of straight friends.
as for those unfortunate few who bash us, I think it's a combination of fear, ignorance, stupity, jealousy. they fear anyone/anything that's different because they've been raised by bigots who taught them to be that way. some of them are insecure and I think it somehow must make them feel superior to point fingers and pass judgment on others.
