...is making the world too fast?
In other words, with cell phones,
GPS Systems, Laptop computers, etc...
do you think that people are just
flying through life without even
stopping to smell the flowers,
as the old saying goes?

I do! I just think it's awful
that people have a phone
attached to their ear, and
inside that telephone is a
computer with music, email,
a camera, a mapping system,
games, and who knows what else.

Do humans not want to interact
with humans anymore?

I think a question that would be interesting , If Adam did not eat the apple , would God have killed Eve ? And made him a new wife ? Then would he be missing two ribs........??

you say god is real and other gods are not, but what if god is just like the others, and you might say we have proof, the bible,what if the bible is just fake, anybody could meke it up,but the things that bugs me what if there is no heaven and hell, what then, will i body just shut down we will never exist, and everything we see grass, tree's and everything, what if they were created ont there, will there be at least a after life.

Hello, I need to write a letter in German. It's not that long, but I need to get it done ASAP. My father is ill and I have to let my brother know, he's German and doesn't speak English (long story) and I really want to get this message to him as quickly as possible. I've noticed that many folks in here complain about God's ways. They look for loopholes, or dismiss God's nature outright. Is it because people think that the majority rules in heaven? Is it because people can't imagine a king with absolute authority?

I am very curious as to what people think.

Personally, I don't believe in evil. What we consider evil is anything that threatens our well-being whether it be in the mortal or immortal world. Hell, Satan, and demons are human fears personified.
If I may add, in the Old Testament [aka the Torah] there is no mention of hell. I believe it is only referred to as being far away from god. That can be interpreted as a pschological hell instead of a physical one.

I don't understand why God needs a contrast. God is all-powerful; so why can't he be good and "evil" at the same time? Plus he is all-forgiving...so wouldn't he forgive you if you honestly deserved it even if you did something really really horrible?
So shouldn't hell be unneccessary?

It seems like it would be a really powerful idea to set up an online prayer list. Maybe there could be one featured prayer subject every day or every week or something. Imagine if millions of people all over the world prayed for the same thing at once. Imagine the good it could do.

I was puttering around in one of my comparative religion books and I started to see a pattern. It seems like most religions can be classified as being one of the following; theology based, law based or mystical.

There are a zillion books on Christian theology but not much on law and only a smattering of mysticism (mostly written in the Middle Ages).

There are zillions of law commentaries for Judaism a smidge of mysticism. And has anyone ever heard of Jewish theology? Islam is primarily a religion of law too.

Then there seem to be the mystical religions: The Neo-Pagan stuff, Sufism (a branch of Islam), and Native American religions, etc.

Am I seeing pigeon holes that I shouldn’t be?

This man & I attended the same places as children, but I never really knew him. Since I moved here we again attend many of the same functions. He is married with a nice wife & family. I am usually with friends, but if I am alone for one second, he pops up and starts telling me how beautiful I am etc. He tries to touch me. It is creepy and I don't know what to do. I could never tell his wife.
He can change in a second. Just recently he caught me alone for
a second and was saying all of this stuff, some one came in and he was instantly Mr. Righteous. I think he has a mental problem. We live in the same town & I am frightened of him. I just don't know how to handle it. I have told him I don't like it, but he just keeps doing it.

I'm lucky enough to have a Sweetie who wants to get married. My question- How come some guys, who never get laid, are so adamant about "keeping their options open"? I just find that kinda funny. I boil 5 cups of hot water mixed with 3 cups of sugar and it boils to it gets thick and sticky. I then place a blob of it on my eyebrow between both my eyes and then pull really hard and take them out by the root.

2 weeks later theyve grown back and there is nothing i can do. I am sick of people telling me to bushhog my eyebrows or run a lawnmower on them. I mean thats not even possible. Wouldnt that kill me? I hate it when stupid people talk. I have all I need, my hubby argus, possum stinky and my cat ( doe doe) which i recently shaved due to stinkys allergies. our trailer is paid for. Why are people so rude to me. People are so shallowistic
