What could possibly be more mentally damaging to children than telling them over and over again from birth there exists an invisible person (God or whatever) who is unwilling to prove he exists watching them every second of every day, reading their thoughts, and if they don't believe in this invisible person they will be tortured for eternity?

Yet we tell the same children that monsters don't exist so it's silly to be scared of monsters.

there is a public playground that has become a home for vagrants, homeless and drug-users. as much as i would like to find a safe place for them...a children's playground is not acceptable. they bunk out on the metal decking, under a roofed area. i am thinking some gentle nubs or something...but it can't be a trip hazard to kids, either.

In my humble opinion there is no force of creation by whatever name you choose that wants to destroy the expression of itself as Earth, humanity or any other form, through plain and simple unloving acts and disregard for the foundations of decency and respect. Hellooooo out there. I look forward to a time when unity and cooperation will create the heaven everyone alludes to in religious beliefs ~ we really are brother and sisters on this spaceship called Earth. As has been said: We are the ones we've been waiting for. A wake up call is in order.

Also, in response to Bill459, you kind of made my point by calling God He, which is fine with me although I don't think of the creater in terms of human gender; and regarding references to condoning killing ~ I'm not an expert on scripture, but my point was that that is what is being implied by so many whether they are aware of it or not. Thanks for answering.

I see questions on here all the time about how God created the universe or how nothing created the universe. Insted of actually trying to find out how the Earth got here we should try to fix it. Humans shouldn't care about the past right now. With all that is going on we may not have a future.

No one seems to care about the future of the world. Everyone is being so selfish. Only caring for themselves. When they see a homeless person on the streets what do they do? They walk right by. This man or woman was your fellow human but you just leave them there to continue to suffer. Yes they were there from birth or due to some financial problems but that doesn't mean they don't deserve another chance.

We got like a dozen wars in the middle east that are escalating to even more craziness. No one seems to care. In the shopping market I see more people pick up celebrity magazines and gaming magazines instead of a newspaper or something else related to the real world and helping it.
