I'm not white but not one white person i know, and i live in a predominately white area, think they are better. Each race contains a group of individuals who will take thier ethnic pride to an extreme level. Why do you let the minority of white people who feel that way affect your judgement. They may rant and rave a little louder but they truly are not the majority. Which you'll probably find out here in about twenty or so more answers.

I asked a Hispanic lady who owned a porno shop once which ethnic group rents the best. By a margin of 10 to 1 everyone prefers white actors in their porno flicks and, in general the boy/girl variety.

Myself? If I'm at a nudie bar I think the lighter shades of flesh reveal more under the black lights. But, I do make a point out of not tipping any of the tattooed ladies, no matter what ethnicity they are showing off.

Why are you making racist sweeping generalizations? You're only perpetuating the problem and this is part of the reason why we have horrible race relations in this country. *Some* white people, along with *some* racist people of any race, may think they are better than the rest because looking down on someone else makes them feel better about themselves.

I don't think any one is better then the next person we are all the same we feel the same have the same pains and we all love the same some people think they are god's gift to the world and that they are better then the rest of us when they are not

Boy is that a loaded question. First off White people don't think that. SOME white people think that.. And I guess it is often based on what they see and experience in everyday life. For instance the percentage of the crime rate committed by blacks. Also things like the run down and filthy neighbourhoods that many blacks live in as compared to most white neighbourhoods. Furthermore many whites are often subjected to by the mass media to black popular culture, such as rap, that often glorifies greed,hate and violence towards others and that often refer to their women as "hoes" and "bitches". The perceived disproportional percent of blacks that live and raise their kids to live on welfare gives many whites a negative view of the black race. The fact that the media often portrays blacks as victims unable or unwilling to take responsibility for their plight and chose to blame it on society, doesn't help. If true I believe our welfare system may be largely to blame for that. The dumbing down of our school system since the advent of desegregation to the point that students are now "graduating" with out learning much in the way of basic reading, writing and other skills doesn't sit very well with some.
You can agree or disagree with these people as you see fit. But these are some of the reasons why many whites feel the way they do.
The negative aspects of the black race is just much more apparent to these people than those of those who are just trying to get along with their lives, earn a living and raise their families.
I hope this gives you some insight and answer your question as to why SOME whites feel the way they do.

I list only a few of my sources since any discussion of this type almost always gives way to outbursts of emotionalism and vituperation than to rational answers. That being said there is little point in listing sources of research since it is in any case doubtful that they will be perused .

Because they've been superior technologically and even economically at times, but that does not mean that they're superior psychologically. I don't think white people feel that they're better now, but in the past they've been pretty full of themselves. For example they thought that by colonizing Africa, that they were doing African "savages" a favor. Hopefully racism isn't as present in world as media has lead us to believe.

They don't, necessarily. Not saying no white person has ever thought they were better than everyone, but it's not something typical. Some people are just ridiculous.
