who come here just to deride the beliefs of believers rather than learn what and why they believe?

OK, we don't believe in ANY gods. However, we can be just as moral and altruistic as those who believe. Just as some who believe can behave immorally and selfishly.

What most of us feel is that we all have a right to believe what we feel is right and not try to force our beliefs on others.

As a great man once said. " I disagree with your views, but I'll defend with my life your right to express them".

My first language is Japanese and Im trying to perfect my English.

situation is: Naomi wake up at 6:00AM today.
Wich term is the most appropriate under that situation?

1. She woke up early in the morning.
2. She woke up early this morning.

I think the second one is correct.

I guess that (in the morning) ,itself means every morning.
So, (She woke up early in the morning) implies her old habit. and she doesn't wake up early now.
She wakes up early in the morning. is kind of her habit. Therefore
She woked up early in the morning. is kind of her old harbit in the past.

What do you think?

What is contained in the Surat al Taubah? I have finally gotten enough Sihafa and Sufi Arabic down to read the Arabic only Qur'an I bought in Rawalpindi Pakistan, and I am abhorred to say that the english version is decidedly "sugar coated". This question for Muslims, without giving me the spiel of "Islam is peace", "Muslims are peacefull", explain to me how on earth your scholars can justify the bloodlust in these verses? How do you interpret such things? Why are these practices prescribed? How do you live with the knowledge of condoned and encouraged,(As I percieve it), wrong doing?

mormons jehovah's witnesses and many other groups don't believe that Jesus is God. Is that pure stupidity or what you called brain washing by their Leader. Isaiah 9:6 clearly states also that Jesus is the mighty God and eternal father. and you say you believe in the Bible???

First, anyone can post anything, only those answers that follow the rules have a chance at Best Answer.

Second, "God works in mysterious ways" and similar answers are null statements. They are equivalent to saying "I don't know" and thus eliminate themselves from the contest.

Third, contending answers must stipulate the following:
1. The God of the OT is the same God of the NT.
2. That God is a God of love and infinite mercy.
3. That God is a family-values kind of God. He hates the shedding of innocent blood and loves little kids.
4. God hates the sin but loves the sinner, sacrificing His only Son for the sins of the world, etc.

Rules are clear?

All you have to do is explain why God did what he did in a selected verse, and why you approve of His choice.

Let's start with an old favourite of mine: II Kings 2: 23-24.
God sends 2 bears who rip apart 42 "little children" for calling his prophet (Elisha) "Baldy".

many people believe babies go to heaven when they die, because they are innocent. but in the Bible, it says that a baby is born holding the sins of its parent's and adam and eve. if he or she isnt baptized, wont this baby go to hell??

im not doubting my religion, so dont call me names. id just like some verses.

I'm gay, and I'd like to have a girlfriend in high school, but I'm not sure how to "come out." I can't exactly wear a sign on my back saying "LESBIAN; SINGLE AND LOOKING." I think that if it's widely known, I might get raped and/or beaten. I seriously doubt girls go around hitting on other girls until they find a lesbian. How do I do this?

I know we all are suppose to be PC and homosexuality is so cool and hot right now in our culture, but be honest: the moment your kid was to tell you they were gay would you be happy, could care less, or disappointed?

Do you think it reflects bad on you as a parent like you wonder what did I do to cause this to happen?

I mean from my perspective, if I had one son who had a wife and kids and another who was being bent over taking it up his rear(excuse the imagery but as a parent tthat would be all I would see in my mind) I would still love thhem both but would be prouder of the married son with kids. Wouldnt you?
