Why does Revelation use the word Hades. Isn't Hades a piece of Greek Mythology?

13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. 14 Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.[a] 15 And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

Revelation 20:13-15 (New King James Version)

And If I'm reading this correctly, this is saying that Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. So does this mean in this vision of the future that all the dead souls in "Hades" and "Hades" itself are destroyed in "the lake of fire".

I have just heard a friend of mine's daughter was killed in a car accident , he is devastated , How does one approach this kind of thing as I am sure he needs his space , but may need support 2.

Has Mainworry lost his edge?

His answers are considerably toned down! And he hasn't posted a stupid question for months! Where is the fiery dualing with the heathens and atheists? Whats up with the change? Is he getting old...tired...lazy? What happened to the old days when his answers were loaded with personal insults and 10 paragraphs of Bible quotes aimed at the non-believers?

And is it just me, or does anyone else miss his smirky smiling face on the icon?

How about we begin to view this as a ministry? I see too many Christians on here putting people down, ridiculing questions. Please keep in mind that but for the grace of God, you'd be lost too, with no clue as to the answers.
