The cross is the same as this one...

As you can see it is by OTO Satanist Alestair Crowley, whom Hubbard followed before creating scientology. It's symbolic because its a crossed out cross.

See the article here

You can read about the R6 implant concerning religions here on wikipedia http://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/xenu

Or see it here from a Court Trial, which proves South Park is true
http://www.xs4all.nl/~kspaink/fishman/ot3.html

Or in Hubbard's own handwriting:
http://www.xenu.net/archive/OTIII-scholar/

It clearly states that one of the implants given was about god, the devils, angels, etc.

What about this? Hubbard in his own voice telling you there is "no christ": http://www.lermanet2.com/cos/nochrist.wav

His view on the historic jesus (non-christ version) is much worse though. I gather that since the church denies (when it suits them) this is the real OT VIII, I can post it here:

"For those of you whose Christian toes I may have stepped on, let me take the opportunity to disabuse you of some lovely myths. For instance, the historic Jesus was not nearly the sainted figure has been made out to be. In addition to being a lover of young boys and men, he was given to uncontrollable bursts of temper and hatred that belied the general message of love, understanding and other typical Marcab PR. You have only to look at the history his teachings inspired to see where it all inevitably leads. It is historic fact and yet man still clings to the ideal, so deep and insidious is the biologic implanting.

It is a good joke that the Galactic Confederacy is associated with the Serpent in the Garden, the beast and other emissaries of the "Prince of Darkness". Yet in certain passages and esoteric interpretations of the Bible (much of which has been taken out and effectively suppressed for centuries) as well as the Cabbalah, the truth reveals itself quite nicely for the clever and the ungullible."

The cross as a symbol predates Christianity.
It has been used for a lot longer than the past 2000 years.
Seeing as you have supposedly done some "research" on this subject.
Actually Dan Brown covered this fact in the Da Vinci Code.
( I have to say that his research methods seem to be a lot better than yours)
The Scientology cross is symbolic because it has 8 points.
These represent the 8 Dynamics or 8 parts of life thro' which each individual is striving to survive. These are urges towards existence in 8 different spheres:
Dynamic 1 Self
Dynamic 2 creativity, sex, family unit, rearing of children
Dynamic 3 Groups or as a group, race, etc
Dynamic 4 Mankind (all races)
Dynamic 5 Life forms, plants, animals, birds etc
Dynamic 6 Physical or Material Universe(Matter Energy Space & Time)
Dynamic 7 Spiritual Universe, spiritual beings, life source.
Dynamic 8 God, Supreme Being, the infinite,or as infinity.

Just to correct your false information, ( or South Park's ? )
as a Scientologist, I am under no delusions ( from "evil aliens" or anyone else for that matter). Jesus most definitely existed, and was most definitely a Messiah in his time.
Hebrew definition of Messiah: One Who Brings Wisdom -- a teacher, messenger.
And just to cover all the bases here..... so was Moses....Gutauma Siddharta (Buddha)..... and Mohammed .
These were not the only ones of course, but they definitely made the most impact on the spirituality of man in their time.

The cross was used in pagan worship long before Christ was ever born. It actually has nothing to do with Jesus Christ.
The truth is he was hung on a stake, with his hands one on top of the other. That is how they the romans did to criminals.
Which they thought he was.
Only hundreds of years later when they incorporated the pagan symbol did they say well that's what Jesus was killed on.
Kind of like Christmas, wasn't born on that day, had nothing to do with pine trees or santa clauses. These are just pagan symbols brought into Christianity.

Our Cross represents the 8 dynamics of life - It has nothing what-so-ever to do with christianity and you will actually find that the cross predates christianity!
