I'm not muslim but I know that the Muhammed (sp?) was from Medina. There was too much fighting there so he moved Mecca and founded Islam, then went back to fight in Medina and took the city. Or so the story goes

Medina is the place where Prophet Mohammad, the founder of Islam, started his preaching and was eventually outcast from the city by the authorities. he left the city and made a lonely journey to the nearby city of Mecca, where he is supposed to have met god and then he continued preaching in Mecca where his point of view got appreciation and finally, he died there.

Im not a muslem, some poeple say that he lived in one earlier in life and was more conciliatory toward Christian and Jews as people of the book then and later in life was in the other and was embittered because they largely didnt agree with him as much as he hoped

And Mohammed also did not treat Christians uniformly the same, he had a special group called "Christ followers" who he said would love you more than others in the sura called the feast around vs 80 or so. Many would say this is because there may be a difference between a cultural Christian and an actual Christ follower

We are not Muslim, but my son just read a great book on Mohammed by Karen Armstrong, explaining the amazing history of Mecca.

I was amazed to learn that before Mohammed, it was still a destination for worship. Worship of idols. Mohammed suggested the town fathers not make money off the worship of idols. The town fathers didn't like that so much and Mohammed had to literally fight for his life.

No, very few can.
Could the Median writings be the lost gospels of Mohammad? We don't hear much about the early writings of Mohammad, wonder why?
