I was a Wiccan once. Because Satan had duped me. I thought that it was cool. I didn't have a relationship with God and I was searching for something to fill in that hole in my chest, so to speak. But being a Wiccan did nothing for me, really. Life proceeded to splatter me all over the pavement. I didn't find fulfillment until I met God and gave my life to Him. Now He meets all my needs and I am happier than I have ever been.
People who choose other religions haven't experienced the power of God in their lives. They don't understand. Satan has deceived them.

Speaking as someone from an atheistic background who studied both and chose Christianity, I think that Wicca, and I specifically mean the uber-consumer version that has spawned the "Teen Witch" books etc, is appealing because it gives an illusion of control over your surroundings with spellcraft etc. It is carnal... it's based in the comforting but deceptive world of the body and the earth.
The high spiritualism and abstract nature of Christianity, which rejects idolatry and recognises that we are primarily spiritual and not physical beings, is upsetting for many people. As the world moves more and more into materialism as the Western world becomes wealthier, we'll see Wicca (in its commercialised, pop-culture form) growing. Modern people are distressed by the idea that in order to be at peace, they have to surrender their will to God and put others before themselves. They would rather scramble around trying to see their own will done than obliterate their own ego in accordance to God's will.
Having said that, there are "true" Wiccan guys and gals out there who have a better grip on the spiritual than many a churchful of Christians. And many Christians don't even understand their religion in a coherent way... so maybe it's the super-silly, bigoted Xtians out there who are driving ppl from church to covens???

Are you joking? I'm not being rude, I'm just wondering if this is another satire question.
I'm not wiccan but I've studied it. I used to be Christian but not anymore. I could go on and on but simply put, after studying world religions for 10 years, I've learned that Christianity is a plagiarized religion, including numerous made up stories and quotes. In addition, I was miserable as a Christian, it offered me no hope and was afraid I'd go to hell constantly.
I'm agnostic now so I'm no longer afraid of hell. The Wiccan religion is a positive religion, open-minded and based on the very earliest pagan beliefs.. beliefs that existed before Christianity. It's not about rebellion, it's about something different that makes more sense to some people.

Was raised Christian and just found too many falsehoods and pretenses. On the path to where i am now went through Wicca. it has a lot of good bases and is a very safe religion for those wanting to find a nature based spirtuality. I still call myself a Wiccan if people ask as it is the closest to my beliefs. Sure there is the draw for those who are just rebellious - those generally leave after a while - but once someone truley starts understanding themselves and their place in nature it is a wonderful place to be.

Honestly, I was born and raised in a Luthern background. When I got older, I was told by my parents I could chose whatever felt comfortable for me. What you need to understand, is that certain religions aren't right for everyone. We are all different in views and beliefs. It's not that we are angry with the world or rebelling against our parents. It's what each person feels most comfy with. It just so happens that most of the beliefs I have border along the pagan and buddhist lines. That doesn't mean that it's right for you. That's the great thing about our country. We each have the right to CHOOSE!

Being wiccan doesn't have to be to the exclusion of others religions. And as for anger agaisnt the world or rebelling, it couldn't be further from the truth... wicca promotes loving and respecting the world and everyone in it.

Wiccan is not a religion. Wiccan is a poor state of mind that some let themselves slide into. I'm sure it would have to be rebelling and to some it is just being different and controversial. To me it is foolish. As you are a child you will accept foolish things but when you mature put away childish things.

okay, you obviously have no idea what you are asking. Many people who follow the wiccan faith follow the teachings of Christ as well. Wiccan is not an evil cult, it is a spiritual celebration of self and nature. It is a belief in the spirit of all living things. Do some more research please.

i'm no longer following the common sense, right here. How does the undeniable reality that we've animals today tutor the Noah tale is reality? If there have been NO flood, then we may actually have animals. besides, a religious atheist doesn't settle for the Scripture, so providing the Scripture itself to make a element likely received't galvanize many atheists.

No, I think it has to do with people being different, and also not believing in the Christian religion. I looked into Wicca in my mid-teens. I wasn't angry at the world, and certainly not rebelling against my parents. They left my choice of religion up to me. I found Wicca wasn't for me, as earlier I had found Christianity wasn't for me. I'm an atheist and have developed my own personal spiritual beliefs, and I'm very happy with them, and feel very fulfilled in regards to that.
