It is a defect in language that words suggest permanent realities and people do not see through this deception. But mere words cannot create reality. Thus people speak of a final goal and believe it is real, but it is a form of words and the goal as such is without substance. The one who realizes the emptiness of objects and concepts does not depend on words. Perfect wisdom is beyond definition, and pathlessness is the way to it.

The wise one treads this path for the direct realization of impermanence and for the direct realization of understanding. This, then, is perfect wisdom. Such a one should tread this path knowing that attachment and attractions are neither good nor harmful, even enlightenment is neither good nor harmful, because perfect wisdom is not meant to promote good or harm for that person. However, even though there is no intention of good or harm, it does confer endless blessing.

Any time I see pictures on the news of the poor kids in Africa & Asia (Tsunami) who have nothing, some with no parents, they are always so happy to see the reporters or famous people who are out there doing charity reports for things like sports aid, comic relief and Live 8 - I wonder if it is us in the western world who have got it all wrong with spoiling our kids. It makes me feel so ashamed and humble. What do you think?

This is not a question about whether or not those with religious convictions should be offered some solace in war and death. The question centers on these problems:

1)Most Chaplains are trained in Christian theology – they cannot provide equal “care” to soldiers with non-Christian belief systems.
2)Due to (1), paying Chaplains amounts to endorsing one religion over the other.

Please avoid any arguments about “The U.S. was founded on Christianity.” The U.S. was founded on oppression and enslavement of minorities too; we simply grew (we like to think) out of it.

How absurd would be be to think that humans did not evolve from apes, and that they where not created by God. Many ancient paintings and drawings depict Flying Vehicles, (thought can't be proved they are actually the UFO of today's standard.) What if man actually did come to Earth from another planet. Made kind of a prison for the outcasts of Planet X. Maybe Adam and Eve where the first of many. (We have already read how rotten they where?) There are many Ancient wonders that are still a complete mystery as of yet, and can not be totally contributed to ancient man, or God...(ie. The Great Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx, Stone Henge, etc) Could it be possible?

This is perhaps the choice between brains and brawn. I know that you can have handsome intelligent men or ugly dumb ones but i think they are rare. Also, you ask the same question and transpose women/men.

I am a christian and I know that if God is able to make the earth, the seas, the universe and all what is inside he is able to fill his children with the holy spirit. But why there is so many people who can speak in thongue and so few who can do miracles? I feel very confused about that. Answer with scriptural references if you can.

Sorry for my english.

You can find Jesus in some very foul moods

Matthew

1. Those who bear bad fruit will be cut down and burned "with unquenchable fire." 3:10, 12

2. Jesus strongly approves of the law and the prophets. He hasn't the slightest objection to the cruelties of the Old Testament. 5:17

3. Jesus recommends that to avoid sin we cut off our hands and pluck out our eyes. This advice is given immediately after he says that anyone who looks with lust at any women commits adultery. 5:29-30

4. Jesus says that most people will go to hell. 7:13-14

5. Those who fail to bear "good fruit" will be "hewn down, and cast into the fire." 7:19

6. "The children of the kingdom [the Jews] shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth." 8:12

7. Jesus tells a man who had just lost his father: "Let the dead bury the dead." 8:21

Sounds like he had an anger problem? Is this passed on to his minions?

Would he or she let the people of earth know that he or she is back. And do you think people would except it? ps. You never know if Jesus will come back as man or woman. Because God can do what God wants to do and send Jesus back how God wants.

yep according to this article...

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,2-1798944,00.html

“In general, higher rates of belief in and worship of a creator correlate with higher rates of homicide, juvenile and early adult mortality, STD infection rates, teen pregnancy and abortion in the prosperous democracies.

“The United States is almost always the most dysfunctional of the developing democracies, sometimes spectacularly so.”

Gregory Paul, the author of the study and a social scientist, used data from the International Social Survey Programme, Gallup and other research bodies to reach his conclusions.

In times gone by, if a lady wanted to attract the attention of a gentleman, she would 'accidentally' drop her hankerchief for him to retrieve for her. Conversation could then be allowed.
What do ladies drop today?
Or putting it rather more delicately, what is today's etiquette?

After all, he DID say in Mark 11:24 "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." Didn't he? And if you read the passage, he makes NO mention of conditions or caveats. None. You want it, pray for it, it's YOURS. No questions asked. And this isn't the only passage to mention this either, here is a list you can look up yourselves;
# Matthew 7:7
# Matthew 17:20
# Matthew 21:21
# Mark 11:24
# John 14:12-14
# Matthew 18:19
# Mark 9:23
# Luke 1:37
ALL of these passages show clearly that whatever you need or want, you just ask in prayer, be sincere (and what could be more sincere than a homeless mother praying for shelter and food for her children) and it will be granted. No questions asked.
So then why, if that is the case, does this never happen in churches? Why would god's own reps need to beg for money from the flock? Why not just pray for it?
Let the apologists start with the excuses!

I've also seen the term 'God Warrior'.

I would imagine that their god should be able to defeat their devil, so who would they have to fight? Atheists? Non-believers? Didn't Jesus say something about loving your enemy?
