I've also seen the term 'God Warrior'.

I would imagine that their god should be able to defeat their devil, so who would they have to fight? Atheists? Non-believers? Didn't Jesus say something about loving your enemy?

Non-believers. And yes Jesus did say something about that but fundamentalists like to pick and choose what they want to follow in the bible, so they like to ignore that part.

A true christian soldier is a missionary. He does not do battle with a gun but with a bible, His enemy is the devil and the war is over the souls of men. He teaches love and charity to combat hate and greed.

Oh foolish person. Do you not know the scriptures? Eph. 6:12 - For our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.

Satan is constantly attacking us with false ideas, lies, perversions some of which you have bought into. Is God able to overcome and defeat Satan? Of course He is but whether that happens or not is our choice.

We also have to struggle against those athiests who try to force feed their religion down our throats believing that their way is the only way to think. Such hypocrites.

Thanks for the question and the 2 points.

Jesus did say to love your enemy . . . and to turn the other cheek.

But Pat Robertson said to pray for Supreme Court Justice deaths. Maybe Christian Warriors are fighting for pro-life legislation?

Sarcastically,

To me the term Christan soldier/warrior is an oxymoron but they are people who think they have the right to force everyone within ear shot to believe their way is the only way ..They are people trying to convert others to their religious beliefs by any means possible, thru pressure ,intimidation ,creating fear ,false befriending, or illegal acts ie bombing legal abortion clinics. Holy wars have always been an affront to humanity. Self promotion and hypocrisy are rampant in organized religions. Where is your love of man and acceptance of others ?

The terms are spiritually speaking. The terms have nothing to do with not loving your enemy. It's just a wayof saying that you're doing your best to abide and trust in God.

First of all, I'd like to say that I am praying for each and everyone of you that have responded to this question. Now with that being said, Ephesians 6:12 says:
For we (Christians) wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
We love the people...not the sin.
Revelation 17:14 also says
These (evildoers or followers of Satan) shall make war with the Lamb (Jesus), and the Lamb shall overcome (defeat) them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful. (Christians)

In other words, we won't start the fight...but He will finish it!!

There is a spiritual war being waged. Right now.
There are no non-combatants. You are as involved as I am.

It is between Satan, who wants to drive you away from Christ, and Christ who has shown us the way to eternal life.
Satan already knows he will lose but he continues, causing as much destruction as he can, until the final day.

There is a time line referenced in Matthew 8:29:
And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?

Before the time. Pretty ominous.

Christians are in a constant battle with the forces of evil.
Ephesians 6:12-13
12For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

13Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

When Paul use the term soldiers, he is refering to the discipline of been the Soldier. Been totally obedient to the Master.

Paul, urging the believer to resist those evil doer who had come into the church and spread wrong teaching. One of which later tranform into Gnostic.

Christian, in my opinion should be peace loving. As Jesus commanded us to do. Love your neighbour as yourselves.
