No He is not "spiteful".
1. Those who bear bad fruit will be judged according to their works.
2. Jesus fulfills the law and the prophets and disapproves of the woman being stoned to death.
3. He says that it would be better for us to pluck out our eyes rather than to let sin enter into our hearts. Obviously He didn't mean that we actually pluck out our eyes...Duh.
4.Most people want nothing to do with the Kingdom of Heaven, and yet they complain that they won't enter, what a strange phenomenon.
5.Again, hell is a place prepared for those whom are spiritually dead, it is the second death and it is an eternal reality which concludes not only the way we lived on earth, but the state in which our souls were in when we died. It is just a continuation of a spiritual reality.
6.There's that place again....
7. Again, He is referring to the spiritually dead.

Jesus speaks much more often of love. In fact, that is how he describes God. I John 4:7-8 He is not a spiteful.
These passages you reference, he used strong language to indicate the dangers of not living a spiritually fulfilling life.
If these passages were meant in the physical sense, I think Jesus would have committed more violent acts during his time.
His most violent act is when he overturned the tables of the money changers in the temple.
As for his "Minions", those who have a "holier than thou" or spiteful attitude (there are an abundance of them) are not really following his teachings. There are many others that are down to Earth and good people.

It would appear so. Although much of what Jesus supposedly said is very compassionate stuff, there is also a touch of that Old Testament vengeance and cruelty. It's hard to know how much of this is a fabrication of those who wrote the New Testament.
Maybe Jesus really was a decent person. The Romans certainly spun that in a different direction though, didn't they?

1. OK
2. His laws
3. (a) Not literally - but emphasizing the transgressions and the consequences are that important.
3(b) True
4. Sad but true
5. See #1
6. (NLT) But many Israelites--those for whom the Kingdom was prepared--will be cast into outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."
Many - not all.
7. Parable. The man was saying I'll follow you after my father passes away, after my business is taken care of, after this and after that... Jesus was saying either follow me or don't.
I'm not saying He doesn't get angry. He certainly has good reason to, but He is a God of love and mercy.
