I am a christian and I know that if God is able to make the earth, the seas, the universe and all what is inside he is able to fill his children with the holy spirit. But why there is so many people who can speak in thongue and so few who can do miracles? I feel very confused about that. Answer with scriptural references if you can.

I can't give a scriptural reference at the moment, but I do believe that speaking in tounges the way people do it today in not biblical. That could be why so many people do it. They are deceived. Many denominations believe that you have to have the gift of tounges in order to be saved. This is clearly wrong. But, because of this belief, many people act like they have this gift when all they are doing is mumbling words that don't exist. Miracles happen every day. God is always working. Keep your eyes open and you will see them all the time.

A lot of the people that supposedly speak in tongues are doing so not of the spirit of the lord but another spirit. The Lord would only have someone speak in tongues if would benefit someone. For what benefit would there be if no one understood what was said? As for miracles there are more done with out being broadcast then a person may think

It takes much more energy from Spirit to supply a Gift of Healing or Telekinesis than it does to supply a Gift of Speaking in Tongues. That is why there is more of the latter than the former.

please b carefull that u r not looking 4 an outward sign. God will sent those who look 4 outward signs strong delusion that they would believe a lie. Looks like they r substituting the signs 4 the word on the inside. u must b born of the water and the spirit in order to enter in. that water is not john's baptism. it is the word of God on the inside(heart). try the SPIRIT'S to know if they r of God.

I agree with you that God is our Creator, and able to fill us with his Holy Spirit, and give the gift of speaking in tongues.
I think that we as a church, don't expect miracles anymore. My church firmly believes in healing, deliverance, and hope that Jesus will return soon.
I believe that you need to pray for healing, In James it says is any among you sick? let him call upon the elders of the church for healing.
So why aren't we? We have been so inundated by doctors, and aspirins at the local drug store, that we don't expect to need God to heal us.
Isaiah says, that Jesus was bruised for me, and by His stripes I have been healed. I believe that with every bit of my spirit. I have been healed from drugs, cigarettes, carpal tunnel. My husband , from alcohol, from kidney disease.
It also says in the Word, ask not receive not. We aren't asking, and we aren't being taught to ask. Pray for the gifts of healing, so you can lay hands on the sick. Pray for what the Lord will have for you, so that you can be used where God would have you used, and you will begin to see miracles.
