Wouldn't you just love to grade a paper that had the reponse "duh' in it. I detest that word, though I have on occasion used it. But, only in reference to my own blunders. I think we all have those moments. However, I think it is uncouth to respond to any question with "duh". Any valid question deserves a proper response.

sure, a complete answer would require some thought and research on the part of the reviewer of your question thus depending on the question and its difficulty in answering triggers either a latent response resembling that of a caveman or a Nobel Prize laureate.
