Are families losing the ability to communicate effectively and bond as a unit because sitting together, and sharing not only a meal, but also sharing the highs and lows of each members day, is now replaced by non attendance for the meal or eating it in silence in front of the TV?

Do you and your family still eat together as a general rule?

Do you see no need to return to this once "normative" practice?

If you are already doing this, or are planning to start doing it, what time will you serve dinner and what TV shows will you miss NO MATTER WHAT?

Better still...what TV shows are so important to watch, that you could NOT all eat a meal together and share the days events with each other, because you COULD NOT BARE TO MISS these favourite TV shows and would be irritated if the family "TALKED TO YOU" during them?

I previously asked the question; so when a Christian says that you are going to hell, is this a judgment based on what they believe? A judgment by definition is a misfortune looked on as a punishment from God. So if it says in the Bible judge not least you be judged your self, is this not going against God, would you not be doomed to the same fate as those whom you have judged? Look up the definition on judgment in the dictionary. Going to hell for not complying with the Bible or believing in God as Christians state, is a Judgment made by Christians, and knowing that a lot of people do not comply with what the Bible says then they judge them as that they will be punished by God. So with this being said, I would think that if a Christian either states or believes that another human is going to hell for not complying with the Bible then they them selves will be condemned to hell as well.

what about about the other religons that have been around hundreds (possibly thousands) of years before? I dont mean to sound like im attacking christianity, but what makes you negate everything that they have taught for thousands of years? Do you think your religon is superior to theirs?

as part of a local history research project, i came across, on a map, an area which had quite a lot of saint's names grouped together.
although not connected to the research, i was interested enough to think this might be a basis for an oral history/story-telling project.
why were so many saints comemerated in such a small area? what happened here? and if the names represent those involved, what is the name for a group of saints?

Im not a person that gets caught up in hype however there are many things that point to 2012 being the end of the world. The Mayans are an ancient culture with a calender that baffles people today of it's acurracy. However strangley the calender stops after 2012......

I have a murder threat against my avatar. I'm not afraid of death, but I feel the situation is unjust. So I want to live the rest of my time comfortable in the knowledge that I will be avenged...I want someone to whack my assasin's account in retaliation if I am deleted. This is how it began, late one night when an interesting avatar began popping up:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=ArYNQEEp1ebKFwE8mTvF9Ljsy6IX?qid=20060711230826AA7EEPq

And then I got this...

"Hello furious_chemical (furious_chemical),

You have received a message from another user!

From: KingCoconut

Subject: hi wussup

Message: you will delete your question about me or i will find out your password and delete your account for you!!! and i know how to do that. "

An over-reaction to say the least, but as real and deadly as it gets on Y!A. I know someone out there in the R&S land of overstated morality would feel outraged enough at this injustice to SMITE he who persecuteth me!

I have been schooled at both public and private schools and I can tell you first hand that my grades were higher in private school (with uniforms) and I did concentrate more on my studies because I was not concerned at all in other students' clothing, obviously because they were all the same....Why can't the US educational system pass a law stating all children must wear uniforms. Our students will concentrate more on their studies rather than worrying about what other students are wearing and teasing ones who can't afford $100 for a pair of sneakers or $150 for a pair of jeans..I had 5 blue sweaters and 4 pair of pants all for under $100 for all 9 pieces and wore them for 3 years.

I had a bad high school experince.I never had much of a typical teenage life such as going shopping a lot, going to lots of parties, and hanging out with the really popular kids.Being really cool and attractive.Today,I just realized that most of the popular kids are really just normal people.I visited some of those popular kids's websites and blogs ,they seem like noramal people to me.Most of them do not have what I have .some of the "hot" girls are now just average looking,to me , I don't think they are as powerful and cool as they used to be when they were in high school.
I'm in my twenties now.I think , because of this painful experince I became a better person.I don't think most of the popluar kids are that great,It's just that a lot of people know them in school, that's all.
