if you are a descendant of the tribe of Judah then you are a hebrew but if your religion is Judaism then you are not a hebrew unless you are a descendant.

FIRST, we need to understand the meaning of the word ISLAM as understood by Muslims, so all this makes sense. ISLAM in our view came about when the Good Lord gave the FIRST COMMAND as well as gave man the freedom to obey OR disobey! ISLAM literally means submitting your own will under the WILL OF THE ALMIGHTY.
For this to take place, one must first accept that the LORD EXISTS, and that the LORD IS ONE!! That he is active in human and all affairs. As His commands accumulated based on our human needs, ISLAM became more and more complex and comprehensive. When you join your child to school, you do not teach him philosophy in Kindergarten. As mankind was evolving in the path of ISLAM or giving up our will to the LORD ALMIGHTY, a similar evolution was taking place which in our belief culminated in the FINAL MESSAGE given to the PROPHET OF ISLAM, Muhammad, Peace and Mercy of the MOST HIGH be upon him and his progeny!
We believe Adam was a Muslim in this context. Noah obeyed the MOST HIGH, thus he built the ark. Abraham did move from his homeland to Canaan facing many hurdles, dangers along the way to the new land at the confluence of three continents, so the message of Peace may be spread to Africa, Europe and Asia more easily. Moses did challenge the Pharaoh although he was reluctant and afraid to do so at first. All these are acts of putting their own will below the DIVINE WILL, which is an act of SUBMISSION or ISLAM from which alone PEACE can derive, as the MOST MIGHTY is the ULTIMATE SUPREME POWER, who has ABSOLUTE CONTROL AND POWER OVER EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE!!
If this meaning alone was not taken as the true meaning of ISLAM, and if people would believe that ISLAM means following our Prophet Mohammad, rather than the LORD ALMIGHTY, then in a funny way, the Prophet of Islam would be obeying the former SEERS and MEN OF OBEDIENCE. If Moses was reading the Quran and following it, then really Mohammad was following Moses.
When we Muslims say that Moses was a Muslim, we believe he accepted the ONE LORD, he accepted to OBEY HIM, put the DIVINE WILL in his personal life in ALL THINGS!!!
Names of the LORD were created after languages were created, which were created after man, and man was created after animals and plants, but the Nameless ONE has existed way before the concept of the ONE LORD was embedded in his creatures.
A Mom who is being called by a child knows who is being called, even though one sibling may call her Mom, another may call her Mum, another may call her maa or mother or what have you. In all cases the mom knows who is being called and the child does too. Fighting over which name of the Lord is correct and which language is better than the other is the activity of the naive ones. His name is indeed Jehovah to the Hebrews and Allah to the Muslims, but what about the deaf and the dumb man who can only use sign language?
REASON is the key to learn about the LORD, the MAKER of REASON and WISDOM. Those who follow him truly are never unreasonable, but, what we sometimes see as unreasonable may be so because we are being unreasonable!
I hope this makes sense.

The name "Allah" has no association with the Bible.
The Hebrew name “Yahweh” (or “Yehowah”) seems to accurately pronounce the divine name. Just as the Hebrew name “Yeshua” (or “Yehoshua”) is translated into “Jesus” in English, the Hebrew name “Yahweh” is translated into “Jehovah” in English.
The important thing is to use God’s personal name in whatever language you speak, rather than insisting upon the impersonal! The name “Yahweh” is certainly preferable to the non-name “God” or “Lord”. If you speak English, feel free to use the name "Jehovah".
(Psalms 83:18) That people may know that you, whose name is Jehovah, You alone are the Most High over all the earth
(John 17:26) [Jesus said] I have made your name known to them and will make it known, in order that the love with which you loved me may be in them

Ah...LOL, a "historical" question, I like those.
Yeah, technically that's correct. But bring to mind that while the koran was written well after Christianity and Judaism the Muslims still believe that Abraham sacrificed Ishmael not Issac, therefore, there are more important factors (i.e. the stories) than the actual "name" of God.

I believe Allah literally translates as God. Besides Jehovah is the name translated from Greek from Hebrew it's Yahweh. So they would use Yahweh by ur logic and Christians should use Jehovah.

The people who are muslims today came from the Hebrew people, they were not actually muslims as a religion untill Mohammad wrote and used his religious teaching as a control and a religion for the people.
