I previously asked the question; so when a Christian says that you are going to hell, is this a judgment based on what they believe? A judgment by definition is a misfortune looked on as a punishment from God. So if it says in the Bible judge not least you be judged your self, is this not going against God, would you not be doomed to the same fate as those whom you have judged? Look up the definition on judgment in the dictionary. Going to hell for not complying with the Bible or believing in God as Christians state, is a Judgment made by Christians, and knowing that a lot of people do not comply with what the Bible says then they judge them as that they will be punished by God. So with this being said, I would think that if a Christian either states or believes that another human is going to hell for not complying with the Bible then they them selves will be condemned to hell as well.

Judging dosen't work like that. You can Judge all you want to, and we are told by GOD in the BIBLE to Judge thing's. It's the Throwing of the Rock's that count. When you start Throwing rock's, be careful, they might get thrown Back! No, we can Judge. When some body (a "Christian") tell's you that your on the Path to HELL, they should do it in LOVE not Hate. GOD Love's Everybody. These People are really trying to help you, no matter how bad they screw-it-up. Ending up in HELL is not a PUNISHMENT from GOD ALMIGHTY, Hell was NEVER made for Human Being's. Hope this helps.

I am always a little amused by people's ignorance about sins. I recall my husband's grandmother seeing me replace the worn sleeves on a dress with new material. She quickly told me that I was sinning, but could not tell me why it was a sin, nor where it said that in the bible. I studied the bible and realized that she just did not understand the meaning.

I asked God to give me a few simple things to tell you.

(Romans 3:23) - All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

(Luke 6:42 ) - How can you tell your brother,'Brother, let me remove the speck of chaff that is in your eye,' when you yourself don't see the beam that is in your own eye? You hypocrite! First remove the beam from your own eye, and then you can see clearly to remove the speck of chaff that is in your brother's eye.

(Mark 3:28-29) - I tell you the truth, all the sins and blasphemies of men will be forgiven them. But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he is guilty of an eternal sin

Im a christian.....I would not go up to someone and just right out say they are going to hell....now on the YA people have been asking questions such as will I go to hell if I do this or that....and we as christians respond to these questions with what the Bible says is sin.....you call it judging and we call it informing you of what the Bible teaches us...if you dont want an honest opinion ..then why ask?.....yes we sin...everyone sins...and we will ....christian or not... until we die....Jesus looks upon ones heart.......but the difference is a christian is repentive and covered for there sins if they are faithful to confess their sins....now ...one who doesnt believe in God never confesses their sin ...then they will be lost in their sin.....now see ..you would say that I just judged someone and then I would have to go to hell also but , what you are failing to see is that I am telling you what the Word of God says ...the Word I and many christians try to live by ...and no we arent perfect and dont claim to be....but that still isnt a judgment upon you...it is called discipling one to the teachings of God....how will they know if no one tells them...how will one know if they are lost unless one tells them they need Jesus...so what you say is judgment ...God says is witnessing......christians see one that is lost and needs Jesus it is our desire that all go to heaven and we share with you what we have found to be true....now that doesnt say you have to believe it ....but it is not a judgment......and if you still choose to remain lost and without God then you will take the reward of that choice and I will take my reward for my choice....as for the answers about some are bound to hell...then dont ask the questions about that then you wont be told the truth. as we see it in the Bible.....

The Bible contains laws and instructions. A disciple of same, versed in said instructions, may exhort yourself out of concern for your place in eternity.

Beyond said laws, however, it is a message of love, mercy and grace and Jesus Christ will be judge and jury having soverign authority. His call, not ours.

If you do not follow the Bible's instructions and Jesus Christ decides you're in anyway then I'll be the first one to shake your hand and welcome you in.

Let's turn this around for a second, if I may.
If you don't believe in Him why worry about heaven, hell or judgement?
If you do believe in Him and truly love Him why would you not want to follow His commandments, His teachings, His every word?

Judge not according to appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

You see, Christians are to judge, IF they judge using the words of Christ, and judge righteous judgment as a result.

The following is borrowed, but makes the point well.

Screwtape: We are going to use their Leader’s own words.

Wormwood: No! Please don’t. Don’t even joke about using His words. I can’t take it.

Screwtape: If you’re ever going to grow up to be an effective demon, you’re going to have to learn to use the Enemy’s words against Him.

Wormwood: It just seems so dangerous. Which words are you going to use?

Screwtape: "Judge not!"

Wormwood: I don’t understand why He would tell them not to judge. That’s confusing. He commanded His followers to rebuke, admonish and judge hundreds of times in His Book. And that’s what they’re out there doing. And I might add, it’s causing me no end of grief.

Screwtape: When their Leader said those words, He was speaking to hypocrites. "Judge not… you hypocrite," as He said later in the same paragraph.

Wormwood: Yeah, but how are we going to use "Judge not" to neutralize the whole Church?

Screwtape: We are going to get them to ignore the fact that He was talking to hypocrites. He said that hypocrites should not judge, at least not until they stop doing the wrong deed themselves. But we are going to make them think that none of them should judge.

Wormwood: That’s brilliant… if you can pull it off, that is. I mean, if we can get them to stop judging, then they won’t rebuke the wicked. And they won’t be able to admonish those who are sexually immoral.

So to answer your question, no, it's a judgment based on the words of Christ, a warning of punishment to come, and will not condemn the Christian to hell for using the Lord's words.

It sounds like they are saying failure to believe in the Bible sends people to hell. In reality, Christians believe that people are going to hell by their nature, they can escape from that by believing in Jesus as their savior, and if they don't believe, then they will continue on their natural way to hell.

Now, I know that not everyone is perfect, so if they tell you that you are going to hell, it's entirely possible that they are, in fact, judging you.

However, if I ever used that term, it would be as a reference to biblical truth, and not in judgement, as there is only one worthy of judgement.

"...and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works."
-Rev 20:13
