The conceit of men both modern and ancient to believe they have the definitive answer to a 'question' we hardly understand - is breathtaking, and the cause of misery and fear and conflict throughout history.

Nothing has changed in the modern era - we argue the pros and cons of the 'truth' behind creation, we fight and kill because of our conflicting opinions, yet not one man nor many can sensibly claim to know the 'real' truth, nor throughout future-time will we ever know the 'real' truth.

To assume we have even the slightest idea of the 'truth' of creation now is ridiculous - to assume the writers of the Bible had the answers over two thousand years ago is even more ridiculous!

I think that the only knowledge that is worth having, is that of the creator, and that if, one day, humanity evolves and develops to an ultimate understanding of creation, that then and only then, the circle would be closed.

Created becomes creator????

Throughout history cultures have clashed over unprovable beliefs, often replacing one religion/feasts/rituals with their own religion/feasts/rituals. In the process, millions have been killed for beleiving in whatever they believe, and we are still at war with each other over these beliefs to this day.

I found the site http://flushaholybook.com where you can flush holy books. If we really could eliminate religion, is this the answer to the problems of the world? If religion were gone would we focus on true problems like inequality, injustice, the environment and poverty, ... etc?

***The Paschal sermon of St John Chrysostom is read aloud in every Eastern Orthodox parish on the morning of Easter, the Great and Holy Pascha of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. In that sermon are these words:

"For the Lord, who is jealous of his honour,
Will accept the last even as the first.
He giveth rest unto him who cometh at the eleventh hour,
Even as unto him who hath wrought from the first hour.
And He showeth mercy upon the last,
And careth for the first;
And to the one He giveth,
And upon the other He bestoweth gifts.
And He both accepteth the deeds,
And welcometh the intention,
And honoureth the acts and praises the offering."

***If an evil person repents on his or her deathbed...and truly means it...Heaven will be their reward.

In 1998 Gordon B. Hinckley, the current president of the LDS church made a statement regarding when polygamy started:

"Larry King: Now the big story raging in Utah -- before we get back to morals and morals, is -- the big story, if you don't know it, is polygamy in Utah; there's been major charges. The governor, Mike Leavitt, says that there are legal reasons why the state of Utah has not prosecuted alleged polygamists. Leavitt said plural marriage may be protected by the First Amendment. He is the great-great-grandson -- is the governor -- of a polygamist. First tell me about the church and polygamy. When it started it allowed it?

Gordon B. Hinckley: When our people came west they permitted it on a restricted scale."

Last week, I went to a local grocery store to buy a couple of things for my family and they banned me from the store. All I did is acidentally bump into a display of soda cans with my motorized cart. Anyway, the manager started screaming at me and we got into a big arguement(he was yelling at me to help pick up the cans) I kept telling him I couldn't help him because of my heart condition. (I'm very overweight) and he told me to leave and never come back.
