It depends on what you place your faith in.

As for me, I believe in Christ as the living son of God. There is an account of Christ confronting a demon, or many demons, under the name of Legion. Christ casts the demons out of the man into a group of swine.

If you have no belief in God, then there is no reason to have a belief in an incarnate good or evil, thus there would be no reason to believe in demons.

If you want to learn more, just read the Gospels in the New Testament of the Bible. If you have no relation with Christ, all you need to do is repent of your sins (give up your old ways), understand that sin separates you from God, and pray for salvation through Jesus Christ. Its that simple. No walking aisles, no paying money, no bright lights, just a belief in Christ and a change in your life. Use the Bible for a guide, and it helps (but is not required) to join a local New Testament Church for guidance, fellowship, and baptism (once again, NOT required for salvation, but a step towards obedience.)

Mark 5

The Healing of a Demon-possessed Man

1They went across the lake to the region of the Gerasenes.[a]

2When Jesus got out of the boat, a man with an evil[b] spirit came from the tombs to meet him.

3This man lived in the tombs, and no one could bind him any more, not even with a chain.

4For he had often been chained hand and foot, but he tore the chains apart and broke the irons on his feet. No one was strong enough to subdue him.

5Night and day among the tombs and in the hills he would cry out and cut himself with stones.

6When he saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and fell on his knees in front of him.

7He shouted at the top of his voice, "What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? Swear to God that you won't torture me!"

8For Jesus had said to him, "Come out of this man, you evil spirit!"

9Then Jesus asked him, "What is your name?" "My name is Legion," he replied, "for we are many."

10And he begged Jesus again and again not to send them out of the area.

11A large herd of pigs was feeding on the nearby hillside.

12The demons begged Jesus, "Send us among the pigs; allow us to go into them."

13He gave them permission, and the evil spirits came out and went into the pigs. The herd, about two thousand in number, rushed down the steep bank into the lake and were drowned.

14Those tending the pigs ran off and reported this in the town and countryside, and the people went out to see what had happened.

15When they came to Jesus, they saw the man who had been possessed by the legion of demons, sitting there, dressed and in his right mind; and they were afraid.

16Those who had seen it told the people what had happened to the demon-possessed man—and told about the pigs as well.

17Then the people began to plead with Jesus to leave their region.

18As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed begged to go with him.

19Jesus did not let him, but said, "Go home to your family and tell them how much the Lord has done for you, and how he has had mercy on you."

20So the man went away and began to tell in the Decapolis[c]how much Jesus had done for him. And all the people were amazed.

A demon is an invisible, wicked, spirit creature having superhuman powers. The common Greek word for demon (dai´mon) occurs only once in the Christian Greek Scriptures, in Matthew 8:31; elsewhere the word dai•mo´ni•on appears. Pneu´ma, the Greek word for “spirit,” at times is applied to wicked spirits, or demons. (Mt 8:16) It also occurs qualified by terms such as “wicked,” “unclean,” “speechless,” and “deaf.”—Lu 7:21; Mt 10:1; Mr 9:17, 25

The purpose of all demonic activity is to turn people against Jehovah and the pure worship of God. Jehovah’s law, therefore, strictly forbade demonism in any form. (De 18:10-12) However, wayward Israel went so far astray as to sacrifice their sons and daughters to the demons. (Ps 106:37; De 32:17; 2Ch 11:15) When Jesus was on earth demon influence was very prevalent, and some of his greatest miracles consisted of expelling wicked spirits from victimized persons. (Mt 8:31, 32; 9:33, 34; Mr 1:39; 7:26-30; Lu 8:2; 13:32)

GOD’S Word emphasizes the need for Christians to resist the demon powers that are harassing and misleading mankind the Christian apostle Paul counsels: “We have a fight, not against blood and flesh, but . . . against the world rulers of this darkness, against the wicked spirit forces in the heavenly places.” This means that every Christian must “take up the complete suit of armor from God, that [he] may be able to resist in the wicked day.”—Eph. 6:11-13.

Yes they do. Without a doubt, definitely they do.
God says in the bible that they do, and many believers and non-believers in God have seen, heard or felt their presence.

When people say they have seen ghosts, spirits, or have experienced abnormal 'happenings', these 'supernatural' things are basically demons or demonic activity. Unless they are good spirits, and then they are angels.

Im a christian and I've seen and heard demons, and i've felt their presence at times, sometimes within other people (unfortunately). I had experiences with demonic activity even before I became a christian, even though at the time I didn't know what was actually going on.

But one of the biggest tricks Satan has is trying to convince the world that he doesn't exist.

And it often works, you just have to listen to other people who say that evil and demons or God and angels don't exist, to know that Satan's fooling them.

Peace.

That depends on how you define demon. I believe a lot of people have a demon hidden deep down in their psyche. It's just a matter of pushing the right buttons to let the demon out...

certain, they easily do. even if they don't seem to be little obese fellows with horns and pitchforks, they're the spirits that rule over the powers that be in this international. The powers of greed, corruption, the evils of humanity, concern, panic, hopelessness are all led to by using demonic impression. We as a society have a warped view of what a "demon" actual is. they're the unseen forces at artwork in the back of the scenes, not some gruesome creature from a movie. All of this international is lower than the impression of demonic oppression, even if that is by skill of disappointment, dependancy, melancholy, or inspite of, all of us have our own demons to attempt antagonistic to with. Jesus is the purely one with the authority to rid us of our demons and their adverse impression and oppression in our lives. by using turning to Jesus we've secure practices, i understand because he kept me from my own demons.

I believe they exist. I've never come visibly face to face with one, but I've experienced some strange things. Scoff all you want, but when you get that feeling that something is behind you, watching you, and you turn around and and no one's there but you just can't shake the feeling, then you'll know.
