It seems like everyone I know who is a Believer became that way because there was one specific person who "opened their eyes" or "showed them the light". Usually this person is a very friendly, charismatic type who they admire and highly respect.

The people I know who aren't believers have never had a person like this in their lives. Maybe it's not the actual religious tenets that people buy into, rather it's the salesman making the pitch that they wish to please?

B.F.Skinner showed how far some people will go to "fit in" or please others. Could religion just be a means of acceptance for some?

I really need advice on how I can strike that confident yet modest approach in a job interview, I'm normally a confident person but in an interview it all goes to pot and I end up talking myself down as opposed to promoting myself because I don't want to portray myself as arrogant and over-confident.

I have spoken to friends and family but I wanted some more opinions.

I was being rebelious and selfish and i totally ignored what my dad told me, he told me not to go to my bf's 4th of july party but i went anyway. Because of my actions, i'm now kicked out of my house and i'm not welcome back. I never meant to hurt my dad the way i did. I feel so bad, he's always been there for me and always supported me, and i basically spit in his face. I've tried to appologize but i guess i cut too deep. I have been praying so much about the whole situation. I want everything to turn out right, i want my dad to forgive me and take me back. I know this is pretty much like a confession but i just want people to know my story to a certain extent and maybe they can help me by praying for my situation also. I'm normally not the rebelious type of person , i just dont know what got over me. Can anybody help me?

Scientists who base their claims on purely scientific research, experimentation and observation and have already allowed us to make huge advances in the knowledge of the world around us.
And yes sometimes these folk can get it wrong or only almost get it right but at least produce findings based on logic and reason the majority of which have been proved correct .
