This is in response to my message to him that declawing cats is inhumane and counts as mutilation.

Here's what he wrote:

"It's not 'mutilation', that's just emotonally charged propagandistic talk and itmeans nothing. Declawing is a routine procedure that's been performed millions of times. My sofa cost me $1500. My leather chairs, $300 each. The decision was a no brainer."

Now, am I overreacting or is this kind of casual cruelty something that we should have long ago come to accept in this country. I single us out as declawing is regarded as inhumane and unacceptable in other places, such as the UK.

Is a cat's intactness worth more than $2100 worth of furniture?

Is it okay to alter another creature without its health or well-being in mind simply to protect our material possessions?

I think not.

Am I just an overly sensitive cat person or is this really just unnecessary materialistic barbarism?

By God I mean belief that we should strive to know everything, strive to be perfectly good and just, strive for infinite beauty in life. I see all the so-called believers in god (the Christians, the Jews, the Muslims) as unbelievers who pride ignorance and irrationality, strive to be cruel and mean and unjust, and strive for ugliness (vulgar, brutal) with their constant killing, murder, terrorism, injustice, racism, and greed.

I ask questions after questions about God. The answers are mostly "God isn't logical" or "We don't have the capacity to understand God" or "You must have faith" or "Only God knows" aka "I don't know".

How can people believe so passionately about something that they really don't understand or know much about? I'd rather not have faith than have faith and have all these unanswerable questions. x_x

would you rather help a homeless drunk on the street who was an American citizen or an immigrant woman who had a baby every year? I would help the homeless drunk and let the woman and all of her litter starve.

Perhaps my previous question was a bit unclear. It was this. What should we do with the atheist habit of twisting the scriptures ? Also, does anyone have the guts to read that site I posted ? Also, did anyone notice the utter venomous responses to my questions? Also, why are the (mean ones ) atheists so crabby .? Also, if they dont want " religion " to be spoken to them..why then gosh darn willakers are they in the religious section ? sometimes ? Sorry but it just escapes me. http://www.beitshalom.org/articulo.aspx?c=170 P. S> Did you also notice their responses always refer to mental illness, drugs and other debased behavior ? ( lol .hahahahahaaaa). j/k

Christianity and the bible are the only things in this world that gives people a solution to life. You see, if there is a solution to a problem and we use that solution, the problem is eliminated. It's very simple becuz there is a simple explanation for everything in this world. God gives us a solution to all our problems but people are so confused and ignorant that they don't see the truth in front of them, which is found in the scriptures.

It just seems that with all the religious violence in the world and all the distrust between gvmt and religion in this country that it might be logical to keep religion in the church and keep it out of the hands of kids. If a child wants to know aboutreligion, he or she should learn it from his or her parents.

our public institutions do not need to promote things so controversial

We have times that we share our religious services with other local churches of different denomations. On one ocassion we all met at a Baptist church and were praising the Lord in our way. After the service we were having a meal with the other folks and a woman who was a member of the Baptist church came to me and said "I love that you all praise the Lord by holding up your hands etc., but our pastor does not allow that in our church. I do believe that if you are not disorderly etc. that you should be able to Praise Him the way you do in your home church. What do you think of the actions of this Pastor?
