Yes I do believe family plays a role on both sides. Girls who are taught to always be "nice" and not rock the boat and that men are to be catered to at all cost, or that men have fragile egos, run the risk of being too scared to say no even when they want to. Girls should be encouraged to say No and not worry about hurting someone's feelings.
And boys who are raised in households where women aren't respected and are taught that women are conquests to be proud of by their ignorant fathers can become date rapists without really thinking that they're even doing anything wrong. So yes, family plays a big role in date rape.

I think educating woman in general is the key to preventing date rape- but certainly educating teen aged girls would be a major role- and by limiting a teens chances of being in a situation that is risky. But, woman at any age are at risk, so we all need to be smart and aware of our surroundings and who we are with.

Yes, Familys members should show more concern to their younger members. Parents should know who are the kids friends and who they mixed around.
